I see nothing wrong with a player - particularly a young one - getting excited when he scores a goal, however easy it was. A lot of us get excited and we’re not even on the pitch. I’d quite like it if Simms would display even a brief flicker of delight when he scores.

That's fair but I just want to enjoy our best start in ages while it lasts. There will be bumps in the road ahead but it's reasonable to expect us to be fighting hard for the play-offs - possibly even the top two - this season.

Is there any reason why we can't play Bassette? All the talk of him going to Utrecht seems to have died a death. If he isn't going there we need to have him in the shop window and give him some minutes in case he stays and we end up needing him in an emergency. Keeping him and him not playing...
