    Match day prices

Boxing Day will always be a Cat A game as it’s generally one of the highest attended games of the season. £37 isn’t unreasonable and given that we have around 22k STHs, it’s impacting an ever smaller % of fans. Frankly, we’re getting less reliant on day trippers and walk ups. At some point, I...

    Transfer Rumour Brandon Thomas-Asante

Well, I’m not so fussed about the depth per se. My belief is that there’s a general lack of experience in the team. Given the catalogue of avoidable goals we conceded last season, you’d think an experienced CB would be really beneficial. This season at least, I reckon Lati will be mostly...

Which had no bearing on what was a brilliant finish.

BTA scored 2 less league goals than Simms including one of the best goals we conceded last season (WBA’s 2nd in the home tie). He’d start for most Championship teams and he’s not a guaranteed starter for us. Had we signed Stamenic, I’d be happy to predict us finishing as high as 3rd or 4th this...

Ironically, precisely the kind of signing people were saying they’d have made when Wright and Simms were slow off the mark last season. Thankfully, the last time I recall hearing the phrase ‘I’d have signed a proven Championship striker’ was Sheffield Wednesday at home in the cup replay. We...

Yikes, that is a big dose of copium - which I recently found out is not a drug! 😂

BTA apparently isn’t 2-3m upfront. For consistency, I’ve used all the top end values. Bearing in mind we signed Godden for £750k in the same window Pompey signed Marquis for £2.5m, that should provide some context. BTW scored 11 goals, plays across the front 3 and comparing those league goals...

    Transfer Rumour Brandon Thomas-Asante

Well, there are people thinking Sakamoto is starting ahead of EMC (£4.25m), Simms (£8m) or Wright (£9m)… Joking aside, £2-3m for a sub striker who’s 25 with a good record at Championship level is a bargain. You’d easily spend that on a top end L1 player. We’ve also weakened WBA in the process...

    Transfer Rumour Brandon Thomas-Asante

He wouldn’t because he’s not being brought in be our number one striker. Scoring 11 goals last season shows he’s good enough to contribute. Compared to Obikwu who scored 3 in 16 at L2 level (and needs a loan to continue his development).

What about our Leaky Defence ?

I don’t think we’ll get a CB and a RB, it’ll be one or the other. Assuming BTA signs, I agree that’s attack sorted and a CM is need to boost the ranks.

    Front 3 vs Stoke

Wright-Simms-EMC if Wright is close to being fit enough. He probably won’t be unless he get minutes against Roma and Werder Bremen. His base fitness and match will be higher than most of the squad as he was involved in the Copa America.

Yes and Robins will still have his best team that he will fall back on. The big benefit of having a big team is being able to rotate player in game. Last season, the issue was more the amount of minutes rather than the number of games we played yesterday. Sakamoto played nearly every minute in...

Top scorer and assister last with double Sakamoto’s tallies. A lot of fans aren’t ready to accept he’s not going to be one of our best players season.

To put it candidly, it’s an area we’re still lacking in quality. Obviously. People were talking as if EMC just cannot play RW which isn’t true. Going into this season, there isn’t enough goals in midfield (even if Rudoni met his xG from last season) to drop either Wright or Simms and EMC is...

No. If EMC takes his L1 form into the Championship, he’s starting ahead of Sakamoto. Wright and Simms scored 19 goals apiece last season, they’re both nailed on starters. I agree that Sakamoto is class, the other players mentioned are also class, classier.

We’ll see. EMC played RW and LW an equal amount before he went to P’boro. MR will have a plan how to get everyone involved. My personal opinion is that Sakamoto will make a great impact sub. A player with his trickery, pace and energy levels will be nightmarish for tiring defences.

If we got to the Prem, that’ll probably be plan. You’re not subbing either Simms or Wright who scored 19 apiece in their first Championship season nor a winger in EMC who got double figure goals and assists. Sakamoto hasn’t shown that kind of form to date. Robins and his staff will figure it...

We definitely still need 3 players minimum. We’ve looked good v Everton, from what I’ve seen but we’re probably further a long our prep which may explain just how dominant we’ve been.

It’ll be Sakamoto… He’s not a better player than either of Wright, Simms or EMC. I’m not hating on Sakamoto, like most people on here, he’s a cult hero to me too.

Predication: Wright to play ‘RW’ and he’ll operate inside as a second striker in attack.
