    That Guy

Put 30 fat blokes running into each other on the same pitch though and it isn't. Mind you, football, despite it's recent gentrification, is still mainly a working-class sport. Can't have those chaps having alcohol whilst watching the football, anything could happen old boy!

    Thorn v Shaw - A comparison

Agree on Hussey's long balls, still not convinced by him, i know a lot really like him, but don't think he's that good really. The work-rate and aptitude of the players may have contributed to the more purposeful look to the team admittedly, may not be a change of tactics from Shaw, but would...

    Thorn v Shaw - A comparison

Really? Was it 1-1 against Bury then?

    Thorn v Shaw - A comparison

Did you not feel we moved the ball a lot quicker and purposefully forward than we had been doing? Mixed up short and long(not hoof) passing a lot more too. Seemed a lot more pro-active than re-active from what I saw.

    my favourite "new boy".

Barton, real chilled out player, makes everything look effortless. Though possibly because he's still getting up to fitness and too knackered. Might run around like a blue-arsed fly when he's fit for all I know.

    Thorns final gift....

Not in this case! Wasn't having a go at him in this thread either, but don't think that any right-thinking person could suggest that Kilbane is a Thorn scouting success. People talk about those with an anti-Thorn agenda, but bloody hell....

    Thorns final gift....

You remember incorrectly, I have never said that his legs have gone, nor that he was only going to play a bit-part. In fact don't think said much about him at all.

    Shaw's interviews

Surely Shaw has already been involved in the coaching side of things? It is his job after all, so a bit disingenuous to say only had a morning with the players. However he did up the tempo, getting the ball forward a lot quicker and with more purpose than we've been used to, didn't sit back...

    Thorns final gift....

Where did I not say he was responsible for spotting the others? Just that don't think that Kilbane could be considered an unknown gem unearthed by great Scouting. More than prepared to give Thorn credit for Iall the other new signings though. However if any don't come up to scratch...

    Thorns final gift....

No, merely pointed out that you can't give Thorn credit for Kilbane, straw clutching of the most desperate kind, which you are prone to. If you're tired, I suggest you have a lie down. You're even boring yourself now.

    Thorns final gift....

Must admit never heard of Kilbane before Thorn unearthed him!

CET: Nearly 40 managers have applied so far.

But nobody would want the job, that's why we had to stick by Thorn.
