City Won Cov Won Wasps smashed

So were you as critical of them when they moved to Wycombe?

    Pressley has to go now

Its all well and good ranting "Pressley out" but who would replace him? People aren't exactly queueing up to take the job on are they?

City Won Cov Won Wasps smashed

Something I have to mention in this thread, is why all the hate for the Wasps? I can understand the hate for CCC and Sisu for allowing this situation to happen, but Wasps haven't really done anything wrong. To hate them for buying a stadium that our incompetent owners couldn't just looks...

    Delusion?

Seriously? The Council cannot reject a legitimate planning application. Because of that it is actually possible in theory to get a stadium built within Coventry. A stadium will never be built "In the Coventry area" because of the greenbelt. So its either Coventry or at least 10 miles ish...

    Delusion?

The club, over the past 20 years, have treated the fans awfully.

    Delusion?

    Heaven help us.

    Delusion?

So, can you explain what motive there would have been for the club to return if it wasn't for nopm?
  8. bigfatronssba

    Delusion?

I'm sure Wasps are willing to sell us the revenue rights back.

    Delusion?

They must live in the same dimension as the council supporters and the Ccfc fans that hate Ccfc.

    Delusion?

So can you explain to me why Wasps will want to do anything hostile to the football club? Also Wasps owning the Ricoh has made no difference whatsoever to the clubs income streams.
  11. bigfatronssba

    Delusion?

They weren't based in the city at the time. Why didn't CCFC make an offer it the last 7 years?
  12. bigfatronssba

    Delusion?

The Ricoh would be too big for Cov Rugby though.

    Delusion?

    1. What is the evidence that makes some people think the ccc-higgs-wasps deal is great? Sisu’s plan is there for all to see: they have cut costs so are not making major losses; short-term contracts mean they can liquidate if needs be; and they get an occasional windfall from selling young...

    If its all about revenues

Why don't the club buy a piece of land somewhere and build an exhibition centre on it? That would be a lot cheaper than building a new stadium and the team could continue to play at the Ricoh under a rent agreement. 365 days a year income they say is what's needed. So why build a stadium...

Again 365 days revenue blah blah

For the same reason Mr Fisher said they were worth nothing. Seller will big it up, buyer plays it down.
  16. bigfatronssba

Again 365 days revenue blah blah

I was thinking the same. If a major venue such as the Ricoh can only generate £750k a year, what chance would some little tin shed in the sticks have of generating significant revenue? All serious events and exhibitions in the area will still be held at the Ricoh and nowhere else.

    If wasps

I think some people are a bit judging of Wasps owners based on our experience of hedge funds. In an ideal world I wouldn't have something like a hedge fund anywhere near a sports club. However, just because Sisu have been incompetent, that doesn't mean that Wasps owners would be. I am sure not...

    If wasps

Those are good points but surely no different to the situation we're in now? I.e. what happens if Sisu favour another investment over CCFC and divert funds there?

    If wasps

What were you demanding for 7 years ago?

    If wasps

I'm just curious as to why a team surviving on an average crowd of 14k suddenly NEEDS 25k-30k to survive.
