    Overhyped Player

Yes that is a very good example of overhyping, Barkley is nowhere near the quality Rooney was at that age. Rooney is the only English player to break through in the last 15 years who has managed to live up something close to the expectation placed on him.

    Overhyped Player

Agree if you are talking about the present Rooney ( not sure that makes him overhyped though as it seems to be generally accepted he's past his best now and nowhere near world class)

    Big Sam for England

Allardici expected to be named in the next 24 hours, if the FA were insistent on English it's the best appointment we could have hoped for

    Overhyped Player

Rooney was miles ahead of all those players at there respective ages, they are not even in the same conversation as Rooney.

    Overhyped Player

So it's fair to judge Gibraltars best player against Ronaldo and Messi then? Obviously those players are a class above every other player in football at the moment but even so rooneys international record stands up well against ronaldos and Messi international record

    Overhyped Player

Rooney obviously hasn't been world class for the last 3 or 4 seasons but I think there was definitely a stage in his career where he was world class.
  7. SkyBlue_Bear83

    Overhyped Player

Rooney at his peak wasn't overhyped. His problem is people expect and compare him to his younger self, he isn't as good a player now as he was between the ages of 18-25 and as a result gets labelled as overrated and overhyped.

    Chris McCann Signing Number 3.....

So 37 goals including Armstrong then Nah not hammering you as negative just no point in getting anxious over preseason performances as its irrelevant. Very happy with how our squad is coming together.

    Chris McCann Signing Number 3.....

Just cause we might play with wing backs doesn't mean we are going to ping crosses in. Last season we finished with I think Ricketts and rose playing wing backs in the last 4 or 5 matches and I don't remember either of them consistently pinging crosses into Armstrong in those final few games...

    Chris McCann Signing Number 3.....

Squad isn't finished yet, McCann signing and other future signings can free up vlad to play higher up
  15. SkyBlue_Bear83

    Chris McCann Signing Number 3.....

Why not? Vincelot is capable of making a late run to get on the end of the cross. Same goes with Rose. Jones will be expected chip in with goals from an attacking role this season, and we haven't seen enough of gadzhev and McCann to know they won't score any goals.

    5 3 2

At the end of last season it was more of a 343 or 523. With one central striker and two creative players playing just behind and slightly wide to the main striker

    Big Sam for England

Good, fed up of playing short passes sideways and backwards for years.

    Big Sam for England

I'm pretty sure both Newcastle and Blackburn would not have been relegated under had allardyce stayed at them clubs.
