    Thankyou Andy Thorn

So maybe the same applies to AT? He had a transfer embargo to contend with. The main point now isn't what did or didn't happen nor should & shouldn't have happened, nor even who I's right or wrong...it IS what happens next? The first next thing I's Brum at home in the cup. FOCUS people...pusb!

    Bobby Gould

What the one that went on to win the cup? Followed by Wimbledon the year after...managed by Bobby Gould? Terrible times.

    Gary mac?

Mac was too costly as a player, went to Liverpool for trophies, then came back as an expensive boss to finally empty the coffers.

my vote would be Gordan Strachan or Dennis Wise

I'm at a loss with the Strachan idea. He seemed a nice enough bloke & was amusing. Let us remember though who managed us into the Championship...& then to the bottom end of it? Wherever he went he had a motivational impact initially, spent unwisely in the main & left there in relative disarray...

And to be publicly derided, ridiculed & insulted by your former colleagues? And customers?

    RoDs mrs....

Are they "closer than ever"? There was a time when the whole squad was made up of local lads that had to live amongst "us" & were paid relatively little. They played with passion & a love of their local team & the game. My dad remembers it with great fondness.

    RoDs mrs....

Here you go again...the smug little professor! I will not have a red face. AT had his way & I was happy to support him in doing the job that way. We'll never know now if he could have made it work. Your GUESS is "no". No amount of rumour or speculation about the actuals, maybes or whatever will...

Why is there an air of smug satisfaction on this forum tonight ?

Because they disagreed with ATs way of doing & wanted him out. Now they have their way, they believe only good will come it...but we all have to wait & see on that one - 3yrs or more into the future. My concern is that - even if the replacement takes us back to the championship - when a...

    Candidates

Bizarrely, I was thinking that canny Harry has had time to put up some kind of bid & take over the club as well as the managerial role. He seems to know enough business minded people to help him running the club. A VERY long shot though.

    Well...

Apologies to those I mocked last night about various rumours. Surprised SISU made the move to be honest. And to all those who have bayed for his blood & now got their way: - 1. I hope you are happy. Personally I will get behind the new management regardless in the same way as I was supportive...

    Why the panic

No. New team needs to learn new team-mates ways & manager's tactics ( :-/ whether good, bad, indifferent or incredible)...which takes about 10 games on average to judge (e.g. Some get off to a flyers then fade, or vice-versa) Ask me after 10 games if I'm panicking

    Why the panic

Too early for me to press the panic button.

    Why the panic

Who's panicking? The whiners are just happy because they have something more solid to whine about. I agree marathon not a sprint & changing managers can work for or against you. History dictates it generally works strongly against us...but if we're struggling after 10 games I'll reconsider...

    Thorn sacked tonight

Have the board said they are considering Thorn's position? I think not - someone's mate who had a curry while talking to a CCFC steward's brother-in-law who'd bummed a cab driver that gave a lift there earlier to a geeza from Dennis Drive mentioned to the waiter that AT was seething tonight -...

Dennis Wise - alternative choice as manager?

I saw it & he said he I's ready to get back into management now.

    Thorn sacked tonight

There's an old saying that "You reap what you sow"...& a lot of people think that consistency is what brings success in football. If you put them together, CCFC have consistently changed their management every 18-24months & we have been reaping the consequences throughout the post cup era...

    Bury Matchday Thread

I think "That Guy" has lost it! Lol Also still think that, considering all the changes in close-season, AT deserves 10 games before anyone goes casting any stones. We are unbeaten & we all know that we must do better to get anywhere near promotion.

Come off Grendel...no goading is required. Many such as you were calling for his head based on various reasons some of which were valid. That is all in the past though...we have to give the guy a chance to learn his trade (since all we'd likely get instead is a.n.other learning his trade or a...
