Tbf I'm pretty sure here the city fans are ironic cheering because the Bolton player fucked up his shot, that's what I thought at the time anyway. Maybe a bit of both.

Maybe we'd have gone on to concede anyway, no one knows. Reilly or Reuben could still have messed up and the goal could have been scored without the whistle. But I think it's pretty conclusive in the video that it affected the players for a second in a crucial moment.

After the Bolton player miscues his shot a sharp whistle is blown. You can hear it on the video so not sure how some didn't hear it at the time. Our player stops and let's the ball run past him. He only slips when he realises it wasn't the refs whistle and tries to recover.

Lameiras is too slow to be effective on the counter, that's why both times he broke away he didn't really have the pace to get away from the defence and lost the ball. Jones would have probably been a better option for a counter attack option.

If the whistles were being used in a form of protest like the Sheffield fixture, I would be inclined to agree. But they weren't, they were being used to try and put off the Bolton players when they attacking and it backfired. Thats what pisses me off

It wasn't a form of protest, it was a few people doing it everytime Bolton got near our area from about 60 minutes onwards. Obviously the intent was to put the Bolton attackers off but backfired.
