He didn’t choose to have one significant injury. With his numbers, Wright was on track to score 20+ goals. If the grading was a B with potential to be a A had he played 40+ games, I’d understand that a lot more.

He scored 12 goals which is a good return for a 46 game season, let alone 25. His MPG was up there amongst the best in the league. What planet is the author on giving him a C grade?!

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I’m sure @Jimmy87 claimed we rejected an offer from Southampton and Sheaf wasn’t happy about it. If I’m wrong, I’ll hold my hands up.

The way you describe it, then yes we would sell him. What would the club define as ‘the right offer?’ My suspicion is that the club’s valuation probably hasn’t dropped from 23/24 when we rejected approaches from Southampton and Luton. Without knowing figures involved, let’s assume we valued...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Sheaf’s best bet of Premiership football is with us and frankly, this season has been a setback for him so his value has tanked from our POV. I don’t think he’ll leave this summer because it doesn’t suit either party imo.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Agreed on this season. Last season (23/24), he appeared in 24 out of 38 Prem games which is decent. I’ve not checked if that’s full games or cameos to be honest. Edit: checked his minutes in 23/24 and he played a decent amount of minutes in Forest’s first 2 seasons in the Prem.

So where does hamer go now?

To add onto what you said, comparing the two players it’s undeniable that Gyokeres is a lot more athletic than Hamer. The technical differences between the Championship and Premier League is generally closing. Where the gap is widening is Premier League players have the technical skills but...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

There’s a weird obsession with Keiffer Moore. His MPG is worse than all of our current strikers, barring Bassette. If he’s the answer, I dread the question.

That will play a part but over his career, his passing stats are comparable to Simms. Iirc, Simms was better at short range passing and Salech better at long range passing (I could be wrong, the data is not in front of me). When I reviewed the data metrics earlier in the week, Salech was better...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Salech is absolutely better than Simms at things; aerial duals, clearances, interceptions and tackles. This season he’s had more shots and goals in less minutes. Areas he’s worse than Simms (per 90); pass completion, assists, xA, xG and xA combined, progressive carries. Frankly, the pass...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Unlike Vik, Rudoni has 3 years left on his contract. If Vik had 2 years left on his contract rather than 1 in 2023, his value would’ve comfortably been £5+ million more than we got for him. Players going to the Prem from the Championship for £25+ million is not unheard of. Frankly, we should...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Stats over his career to date are close to Simms in a lot of areas. Given how many on here feel about Simms, it strikes me that people haven’t done their homework on Salech. With the sums likely to be involved, this transfer is unlikely to happen.

    Next Season

In isolation, he has had some stand out games, mostly the games where we’ve needed to defend more than average. Over the course of the season though, he definitively has not been a stand out player. Attacking wise, he scores low on successful dribbles, shots, touches in the box and goals - most...

What would we do if we lost Sakamoto’s 4 goals?!
  15. Mucca Mad Boys

    Wright

The inclination is that Sakamoto is a guaranteed first choice and a RW is someone to play 2nd fiddle to Sakamoto. Thats how I’ve interpreted things. In my view, we need another winger to come in and get close to 10 goals and a similar amount in assists. Presuming we want to really compete for...

    Wright

He was v good in the playoffs tbf, but the stats over 60+ games for us don’t lie. Sakamoto’s best facets is the defensive side of the game. I have no complaints about his assist either. There needs to be extra star quality in the team and Sakamoto is a solid player but he’s not going to put the...

    Wright

Salech’s stats for his entire career, there’s a lot of metrics where he’s identical to Simms (fyi - per 90 stats). But with better dribbling, aerial duals and tackles. So for £7-10m, are you actually getting a significantly better player? There’s no doubt his half season with Cardiff was a great...

    Wright

Aerial duals isn’t a particularly useful stat in of itself because we don’t play long ball. The important stat is headers scored which he’s scored a good few goals in his career. This season, we’ve scored more headed goals than the EFL and just about every major European league this season...
