    Item 25/26 Coventry Kit

Really liking the kit and the nod to 90s kit with the badge patterned in over the kit. It’s a nice retro-ish feel to some of the Hummel kits for us and other clubs and to be honest I’m all for it. The newer kits do not have a patch on the 90-00s kits!

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

We’ll surely be signing 1-2 wingers this window. Unless Rapha has turned a massive corner, we need 4 wingers to ensure there’s enough good quality depth on the bench to change games. Against Sunderland in the playoffs, we didn’t really have any attacking threats on the bench at AM/out wide.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

We’ve come this far and are close to getting promoted, the funds will be made available. We may have partly finance other deals with outgoings (such as MVE) but by and large, the squad only needs a few players.

    Away Kit WC Group C

It’s a home kit though, let’s be honest! 😅 Good work nonetheless!

    Away Kit WC Group C

Don’t agree with the FAC shirt being classed as an away strip. You’d have to consider the playoff final top v Exeter too on that basis even though both are clearly ‘home’ strips.

Take it easy mate and hopefully things get better! Hopefully this forum or Cov in general don’t stress you out anymore than needed! The big movers in sickness benefit has been for mental health in the 18-24 age bracket. Which counters your overall narrative. Yes, there will be threads in that...

Ironically on this topic, one of my closest mates younger brother did a ‘biochemistry’ degree at a red brick uni and is now on a lower grade of pay than a nurse at a hospital.

Most school leavers do not need to go to uni. 35-50% is just too much. I can I’m talking to people who went to uni after me when fees were 3k per year rather than 9k because you’re probably going to pay off your student loan, I’m not. As things stand there is set to be a generation of...

Nursing jobs used to be predominantly apprenticeship-style roles... In fact, the degrees are effectively ‘degree-apprenticeships’ where the students take on the costs of training. That is actually perverse in my view. Then, to add insult to injury, they are taxed 9% on whatever income they get...

Firstly, sorry to hear about your circumstances! Wishing you well and that you’re on the mend! The OBR reckons we’re spending £100bn on sickness benefits alone. This think tank has done some numbers, there’s UC, highest rate of PIP and housing benefit wrapped up there. Also talks about...

The treasury is perfectly happy with that state of affairs. It cuts trainee roles so we’re not developing as many ‘home grown’ doctors because why not hire cheap labour? An issue of that is not all doctors are respected worldwide.

The fundamental problem with healthcare professionals is that the NHS is by far the largest employer. So doctors and nurses get stuck at the same hospitals on low wages. If I decide my job underpays me, I can look elsewhere for similar jobs. The choice for a UK healthcare professional is...

I’m personally of the view that nurses should be an apprentice course rather than a degree course. The ‘degree-ification’ of the workforce isn’t necessarily a good thing either. After £2k p/m, the workers are de facto taxed an extra 9% too. It was a New Labour policy that was well intentioned...

You can’t have your cake and eat it. Either accept the salary is going to be lower until retirement or be willing to potentially opt out of that to get paid more month-to-month. The way you and others talk about this is as if there is an endless money tree. How does this all get paid for...

    1. It will increase inflation as the costs to businesses will increase costs associated with manufacturing/providing services. It’s not necessarily good for workers either if business cut staff/hours and increase automation. Just as the employer NI hike is doing. Most people on minimum wages...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s all well and good focusing on the pay packet at the end of the month but the public sector pensions are a lot more generous than the private sector, frankly. So a sensible reform would be to reduce the pension contributions and put more money directly into the staff’s pocket. I actually...

For minimum wage work, you can literally get more living on benefits after tax. A minimum wage worker would be on about £22.5k after tax whereas UC with housing benefit and PIP would be £25k. Credit: Centre for Social Justice (CSJ). Faced with that decision, who wouldn’t live off the state...

Looks like MVE has a new agent… [emoji848]

He still has 2 years left on his contract. It’s probably not because he wants an improved contract. We’ve signed KKH and MVE has a new agent after a lot of speculation last window. He’s gearing up for a move away and people should see it for what it is. L
