The reduction in costs, particularly on player side, is probably the most obvious one. Being self sustainable is obviously a better long term strategy than not. Unfortunately our only real revenue is ticket sales and fans would rather stay at home and moan about the lack of money being spent.

Are Thomas & Reid out of contract in the summer? If so, not a massive issue if they stay and play u23 football, other than obviously freeing up funds. Will be difficult to get rid as wherever they go they'll likely take a pay cut.

He's not exactly been a failure. Makes the team better. Goals would be nice but it's not the be all and end all. He'll score at some point though.

Hanson would be ideal. If we could get him on loan until end of the season with a view to signing him if promoted I'm sure he'd jump at that over Bury. Sure Robins has a plan though. Edit: Bury have actually signed him.

The flip side is that we've signed many players who were successful at other clubs, been dross for us, then done well elsewhere. Someone like Cody McDonald comes to mind - playing a level above us now.

From comments I read from their manager earlier in the season it was more to do with his lack of defensive ability as his attacking prowess. Think their style just didn't suit him, ours hopefully will. Have to give him a chance as a number of factors can contribute to a player not doing as well...
