My view was that we just completely nullified Pompey. They only chalked up 0.76 xG from 17 shots. A defensive error from Kitching leads to their goal and it was a v good, composed finish.

Why not? The % of players likely to make it is so low, the opportunity to provide back to the community with private schooling for 3 kids and accommodation is surely a good thing. As a club we definitely need to upgrade our youth facilities to compete in the long term. Players like Monga...

I was in that. Waze recommended that journey which is the same one (more or less) from Southampton that I did in 23/24. To the game (from Slough) it recommended going via Petersfield and really should came back that way. The contraflow added about 20-25m to my journey.

It’s kinda ironic singing ‘city reject’ at him. He left us to go up a division and played a starring role for Ipswich in their promotion season. 100% agree that he’d be a great role player for us. He looked alright last night but we shut them down generally.

He did, as well as BTA and the latter is from BTA's own words. Simms put in a performance that’s put his hat in the ring. You can’t argue that he should play ahead of Wright or BTA but he’s keeping them honest and it gives Lampard food for thought. Definitely deserves more minutes.

I got in at 1:30 and an annoying delay was works on the M27 that blocked the junction to come onto the M3! Seen lots of Cov fans in the service ahead so assuming I wasn’t only impacted. Shit journeys home are manageable when we get 3 points. Imagine had we shit the bed and conceded in the last...

Millwall played well against us. That game isn’t what a typical 4-0 looks like. They went for it at 2-0, we caught them out and they continued pushing, 4. They've gone on to beat WBA and Stoke convincingly at home, so this result is arguably our most impressive to date. With the promoted teams...

We’ve played Leicester and most of the teams we’ve played would be higher up the table had we not beaten them. Watford is a game is a game we need to be winning and that gives us another opportunity to extend our lead at the top.

I agreeably agree! The change was justified and thought we kept Pompey at arms length. Had we won 3-0, no one would’ve had any complaints. That 2 minutes of madness almost cost us and Kitching made an error for their goal.

Exactly. Rudoni played v well in the 5-3-2 because he had a free role. You can’t ignore BTA’s form either and he isn’t really a winger. As the fixtures mount, Lampard will probably switch from his default 4-2-3-1 more often. Last night was a curveball and I raised an eyebrow when I was told the...

Honestly? None of them are in form. We need more goals from them. At some point, the goals will slow down from Torp, BTA and Haji. Particularly, some of BTA and Torp’s goals have been low xG and that’s only sustainable for so long. I think last nights flirtation with 3 ATB is a precursor for...

I prefer EMC but there’s a good case to play Sakamoto if Rudoni has a free role from one of the wings. Last night was Sakamoto’s best performance this season imo, an impact player from the bench is his niche. If you’re 1 or 2-0 up, the last player the opposition wants to see is Sakamoto. The...

Same team as Blackburn. There have been times where our midfield has been bypassed in these last 2 games.

I’m just listening to last nights post-match and BTA confirmed he was playing through injuries throughout last season. Significantly, it corroborates @Jimmy87 intel which confirmed all 3 of our strikers were dealing with significant knocks at the tail end of last season. Last season was the...

I was right behind the goal, and my first thought was that it was going in. However, having watched the replay, it was probably going wide and in fact, looks like it could’ve been a deliberate nod across goal because BTA and EMC were at the back post waiting to poke it in. Kudos to BTA to being...

Simms, BTA and Haji were all out/playing with injuries at points last season. Simms’ best goal last season was v Swansea where he bullied a defender, and finishes the move. He should’ve scored last night and was denied by; BTA who nicked his goal, a fantastic save from their keeper and a miss...

I thought we were class today. Had we won 3-0, no one would’ve complained too much. Their goal was an annoying error but it was good to see the players so disappointed when conceding a goal. They really wanted that clean sheet! BTA gets the plaudits for the goals and was unlucky not to score...

Which is why the early panic about conceding from set pieces was a bit OTT. V frustrating but generally low xG chances and its a problem that is fixable. The red flag is when teams create chances from open play. We've conceded one goal from open play all season, which is slightly fortunate...
