Chances are, we could leapfrog West Ham so it would make zero sense for any of our players to agitate for a move to teams like West Ham, Wolves, Leeds or Burnley.
If these players get the job done, they will be Premiership players next season.
Que Serra, serra… Whatever will be, will be.
Everything points to us standing on business and getting the job done this season. There may be a few blips along the way and whilst the expectation now should be to win the title, it’s automatic promotion that’s the minimum requirement now.
It’s posturing in the media, 100%. Remember when Leeds were “interested” in Westbrook? Haji probably will want a new contract as will a few other players.
Haji Wright hasn’t scored since Sheff Wednesday away so not sure why West Ham would want to sign him is slightly odd. From our POV, we...
Thank you! From my perspective, it’s just reading the data and for us to mess this up, our form needs to collapse and teams like Boro, Ipswich and Southampton need to have flawless form.
Since Lampard has come in, we’ve averaged 2 PPG and in the 2025 calendar year, we’ve got 88 points from 43...
MVE changed agents in the summer and the assumption was that he was looking to move on. The players also defer to their agents for contract talks and so on.
Outside of Boro and Ipswich, none of those teams are hitting the PPG required. Ipswich’s away form is so bad, they will struggle to get above 2 ppg, same with Southampton who are unlikely to hit 2.48 ppg which translates to 21 wins and 4 losses for the rest of the season.
Telling you now that neither Ipswich or Southampton are good enough away from home to maintain that form. Both teams are at 1.2 ppg or below away from home, simply not good enough.
We’re the only team close to 2 ppg when we’re away.
That may be true but again why would a player who captained a promotion winning side want to come and be 3rd choice here?
It doesn’t pass the sniff test imo.
There’s 6 games before the FA Cup and the 3 ‘bankers’ we should win are Bristol City, Swansea and Charlton. 1-1-1 against Southampton, Ipswich and *shudders* Birmingham is tolerable. 2 wins of that trio would be massive.
Same with Simms, a defender could whip out a steel chair and whack him with it before a foul is given.
The foul given against EMC at the byline v PNE was a joke, the defender fell into him and EMC gets penalised?! Piss take.
I share those concerns but won’t be arguing that our defence is now poor. We’ve had tough fixtures against good teams and for the large part, defended well.
PNE had one chance all game and they took it, their chance was less clear cut than the two Haji had in the first half. If he scores one of...
He’s undeniably a good player, but I’m less sold on whether or not it’s a good fit for both parties. If he’s a DM/CM, is he starting ahead of Torp or Grimes? If not, is he happy to be a rotation option?
This seems rather contradictory to be honest. xGA is a measure of chances you do concede…
I don’t really understand your point and it seems like you’re conflating defence with the defenders individually rather than the defence as a team effort.
The eye test has its place. However, when you...
Would it though? He doesn’t strike me as a player that would come in and start from day one. If it’s a loan, I’m open to that but not much on a permanent because for whatever reason, he’s not trusted in the Prem.
7 points required to maintain the run rate but frankly, we’ve got to get revenge on Ipswich. It’s definitely doable at home with a relatively full strength squad.
We could really do with blowing Swansea away in the first half and emptying the bench.
Can’t imagine he’d go to Stoke. They’re in free fall and it’s hard to see where they can rally back, they should beat Swansea but then they’ve got Watford, Sheff U and PNE to finish 2025. That’s tough.
Meanwhile, we’re still top and odds on for automatic promotion.
If he goes to Bournemouth...
