THE DEPENDABLES - 1967 until Now

When you think back over the years (probably a bit unfair on younger SBT's I know) but we have had some cracking players and teams fit to grace any stadium. But set aside your super stars high transfer fee players etc and think about the others who didn't quite catch the eye or were taken for...

    Stern John

Stern John had a decent record with us scoring 26 league goals in 78 games and that would be the equivalent of scoring 15 in a 46 game season He had I admit a rather "laid back" style BUT this didn't detract from his exceptional ball control and first touch. So a tad unfair in deriding old...

    Corners and free kicks

It has to be peculiar to CCFC because how many times have the opposition scored late in the game usually from corners or free kicks whilst we, faced with the same scenario, score NOWT Remember the good old days on corners with Gary McAllister swinging them in and Dion either scoring direct or...

MESSI - is he really a football genius ???

Had to ressurect this thread based on what MESSI did to Leverkusen the other night in scoring 5 goals all different all quality. Any more converts or doubters that this man should be hailed as possibly the greatest footballer of all time ??? PUSB

    Corners and free kicks

Good point there Rob - always baffled me on this one: Just to answer your Corner Kick and Freekick question I have simply analysed the last 10 games This has showed we have taken a total of 64 Corners and 81 Freekicks with no frigging goals !!! (That's 14+ dead ball attempts per game)...

    Young player of the year

Got to be Cyrus for me - absolutely outstanding in his first season for CCFC Got the ability/stamina to possibly be a successful right wide mid ala Bale of Spurs - don't rule it out !!! ps: To a lesser degree maybe Hussy could be tried as wide left mid. PUSB

How many points can we get?

I wonder how much Goal Difference will influence the final outcome. Current GD CCFC @ -19 Forest @ -23 Donny @ -24 Brizzle @ -26 I know things will change week by week but all things being equal and we somehow maintain the GD we have it's got be a small advantage possibly equivalent...

Iain Dowie - harshly viewed as a failure?

You are right stupot - ID win ratio for league games was indeed 35% that should still be eligible to compare with AT. Additionally ID was sacked in 19th place after 30 games with 35 points - finished that season in 21st place after 46 games and 53 points PUSB

Iain Dowie - harshly viewed as a failure?

When he first came to CCFC (19/02/07-11/02/08) he was like a breath of fresh air - he turfed out the acadamy lads at 7.00 am to get an early start and I am sure he introduced a lot of sports science disciplines and lifestyle dictates to the then squad. His track record was not all that bad...

HARRY v THE SPECIAL ONE - England Job ???

Looks like Jose Mourhino might throw his hat in the ring to compete with our Harry for the England job which might ruffle a few feathers and/or may be considered an excellent alternative by many. But first just for the record, below is the respective managerial records for both candidates...
