He didn't recover from the first one. He couldn't fully straighten the knee, it went again. It's why a different surgeon was used second time. This is a new injury, not related to the other knee. I don't think it'll be any pre-disposition to this type of injury, it's probably a mix of bad luck...

With ACL's it's generally the surgery that is worse than the injury itself, and it's the surgery that causes the long recovery time.

I don't think we've gone overboard in helping him to this point. We gave him a new contract because he's a talented player. If we did so again it'd be for the same reason.
