This is a completely different discussion about the legal merits of sanctions more generally. I’ve no idea why you’re bringing it up here, but British law is pretty unambiguous about “the government’s right” in those cases.

So the answer is no then. Not sure why it’s a relevant comparison - under British law, his UK citizenship doesn’t exempt him from being sanctioned by Britain’s government.

Not sure who you’re referring to there, but surely there’s a pretty big difference between being a terrorist sympathiser, and sympathising with someone losing their basic legal rights - even if they’ve done awful things. There’s no Shamima fan club here.

I agree that, on the face of it, it would be crazy and self-defeating for the stadium owners to evict their most high-profile tenants. And yet…

I just mean that Frasers obviously aren’t being charged to put up ads inside the stadium, so TV viewership doesn’t directly impact their advertising costs as it would for other brands.

How is the Fraser branding linked to TV viewership?
