    Depends if you think club form should be the main consideration for selecting an international squad - clearly our manager doesn’t think so. Personally I would take Rashford over Gordon too.

    I think he has a long way to go before I’d consider starting him for England. If he keeps up this form for a few more months then he has a chance but we are certainly not wanting for wide forwards.

    If Sakamoto wasn’t fit enough to start, it’s hard to see who else was going to play on the wing. That being said, I assume our loan agreement with Brighton was a big factor in the decision to start Ayari today.
