Just got back - massive result! 1st half poor. The structure of the team just didn’t work with BTA left. EMC slotting in there 2nd half gave the balance needed. Also just felt like frank just took the handbrake off also . Makes me think we need to do 4-2-4 home and seriously consider 5 ATB...

Exactly- get 3 players in (CM, RW and a 10) and it raises the standard of all the current first 11. The signing of the Woolf and KKH has definitely raised the performance levels of Kitch and Thomas and MVE. Squad game.

Our pressing has dropped off recently. Maybe not surprising as it must be very hard to do over a long period with a smaller squad. That was key to our great start.

The Woolf and KKH are not bad players - they just haven’t had enough starts to get into the rhythm of the team yet. Brau must be gutted he didn’t get a game. If MVE was available then maybe KKH switches to LB. Doug and Frank know we need another midfielder - the Sheaf cash was great but...

I think that’s definitely the case. Nervousness from some and and expectation from others seems to have reduced the atmosphere. Cov as underdogs is our comfortable position and the passion comes with it!

If anything our valuation of Thomas probably went up after tonight!

I’m talking about the formation rather than individuals. You’re correct probably not possible - it’s a worry that with one injured CB we cannot play 5ATB. It was obvious early on we lose tonight.

Lati and Perry on the bench. I’m not hanging my hat on this - just would have been interesting to have 3 CBs nullifying their only focal point.

I agree he was our best player. Maybe 5-2-3. But the point is we lost.

It’s a fair point. But lati was on the bench so fit I assume. Or Perry possibly? Just felt like a Pompey away type game. It was all about them pumping crosses in to the big lad. Clog up the middle of the park and leave it to BTA and Simms to do it up top. (Again hindsight a wonderful thing!)
