In fact, I remember playing Sunderland 1st game of the season, around 2003-2004. Bright sunny day. We won. I was in the pub beforehand and it was packed with Sunderland fans too. They were the best fans I’d seen... really friendly, up for a laugh and not one bit of trouble.

None of them. People look at the bigger names on there and think of how they were at their peak. They’re all now no longer anywhere near that and haven’t played for anyone this season for a reason, be it not good enough or unrealistic wage demands. Either way, not for us.

That’s not reality at all! That’s your opinion! Reality is if Donnie win all their matches, we can’t make it, and if they win none of their matches, we can do it. If we have to win 6-7 then they (Donnie, Posh and Blackpool) have to do the same really. Is them winning those matches more realistic...

Saying we won’t IS being pessimistic, not realistic! We’re 3 points off, that’s a tiny gap. However, I don’t think we will as I’m a naturally pessimistic person.
