Not at all. I just think the choice of venue for his Very Serious Concerns about Ukraine’s EU accession may tell us more about his general sympathies than he’s willing to admit.

I think some people sense an implication that Ukraine’s problems with corruption somehow undermine the case for supporting it against the Russian invasion. Is that fair?

There is pretty much no historical precedent for a country of Ukraine’s size holding an election while it’s in the middle of an invasion or existential military threat. If we’re going to play the game of quoting opinion polls in lieu of actually knowing what real people on the ground are saying...

Torp seems like a different kind of player to Sheaf, more attack-minded and looks like he wants to carry the ball forward. Seems to me like the intention is to play him alongside Sheaf as an upgrade on Eccles, think it’ll work nicely.
