    KP45 - more action now

It’s now been one month since Palmer was racially abused at Hillsborough. There’s been one arrest. Am I missing something in terms of Sheffield Wednesday and the football authorities working to try and make sure this doesn’t happen again somewhere else? Or are we just going to carry on as usual?

    Maidstone Tickets

Wouldn’t mind seeing Dasilva at LW against Maidstone, as he hasn’t played a ton of football this year and LB is one of the easiest positions for us to rotate in the subsequent games.

    Milan van Ewijk Appreciation Thread

The Maidstone game is much less important and *much* easier than the West Brom game. Seems like a golden opportunity to have our cake and eat it given the quality of our FA Cup opposition, but if we’d rather just keep running out the same players until they’re toast then so be it.

Torp is going to be injured isn’t he? I’d honestly rather play two youngsters against Maidstone than make Eccles and Sakamoto play twice in four days. We have a huge game against WBA coming up and we need to be at full strength, why turn up the chance to rest players when you’ve been handed the...

Get that clown out of goal

Wilson was a great story last season, but I think there’s a fear that he was playing somewhat above his station and that a regression to the mean was coming at some point. The alternative explanation is that a journeyman lower league keeper suddenly became the Championship’s ‘best’ keeper at age 30.

Get that clown out of goal

I think Wilson has had the benefit of playing behind a 3ATB formation which is generally safety-first. Our current back four offers less protection and we’re playing a bit more gung-ho, so I’m not surprised we’re conceding more goals. Wilson’s ability with the ball at his feet would also come...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s only by historical accident that Truss and Kwarteng didn’t get to hand-pick the BoE governor, and they had the power to remove him while they were in office anyway. The Bank’s leadership is appointed by the government and its mandate decided by the government - there’s only so much less...

A series of very big and largely unprecedented economic shocks? I’m not saying that central bank independence guarantees good performance but it’s an important principle of monetary policy nevertheless.

Get that clown out of goal

Yeah I really don’t think you need to invest much into your keepers in order to be a competitive team in this division. I would sooner spend money upgrading every other position on the pitch before I spent money upgrading on Collins, who himself was a relatively low-cost upgrade on Wilson.
