We would have been better off with Robins

Why? He has zero track record as a coach. If the ITK rumour merchants are to be believed he didn’t get on with half the current squad either.

    The good old days.....

Remember when you were young and impressionable, with more enthusiasm for life and fewer responsibilities? Do you remember films, music and football all being better back then too? Even though pretty much everyone else thinks the same, regardless of their age?

Would be very surprised if he doesn’t.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

One month of GDP numbers showing a m-o-m movement of one basis point in either direction simply doesn’t tell you anything about an economy’s long term fortunes. It’ll probably be revised the other way next month and won’t even be a footnote in the next news cycle.

    Evil Fuckers

Is that really the case - that only a “tiny minority” of home schooled kids don’t suffer abuse?

Best TV shows or movies you can recommend

I’m only halfway through but as soon as I clocked how much Eddie Redmayne looks like Ben Sheaf it’s really taken me out of the show.

We would have been better off with Robins

Big money? I’d say it was a comparable outlay to other SISU-era signings that didn’t work out - Hilssner, Waghorn, Palmer…

We would have been better off with Robins

I’m pretty sure we only had one Hamer! We didn’t have a strategy under SISU, insofar as “Buy a relatively unsung foreign player for £1 million and watch them unexpectedly become the best player in the league” isn’t a repeatable strategy even if you somehow manage to do it two years in a row.

    Musings of a fan

I think it’s more the fact that the end of NBA games become an exercise in clock management to the extent it becomes a totally different game - tactical fouls, tactical stoppages/time-outs, whatever it takes to bleed out extra time. It’s all very uncouth and American!

    Musings of a fan

Yes, but I don’t see anything special about that. The one thing he does do well - maybe better than any player - is be extremely conspicuous about working hard. Plays to the fans more than anyone I’ve ever seen.

    Frank's Favourites

Wilson is a much better goalkeeper than he was when he joined. Every other keeper we've had under Williams has gone on to play at more or less the same level they were when they signed. The quality of our starting keeper has very rarely correlated with our final league position either. To me...

    Musings of a fan

Games that stop when the clock reaches zero (NFL, basketball, rugby etc) often end in extremely anti-climactic fashion, because clock management becomes the most important part of the game. I much prefer the way football handles it.

Urgently seeking out everything this woman has recorded, these are two of the best TV performances I've seen in ages

Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 14th Dec

Yeah my concern is that we're playing in such a way that there's enough underlying data (xG etc) to convince the coaching staff that nothing is fundamentally wrong and it's only a matter of time before our luck changes. Which I can stomach after 10 games, but not after 20.

Had to explain on two separate occasions why I was laughing at my phone thanks to this post, wonderful stuff.

    The good old days.....

Ah yes, those Corinthian days of the 90s and 2000s, when players only asked for an orange slice and a handshake. Jumpers for goalposts, ITV Digital on’t wireless.
