I just don’t see how someone who routinely moans that football is too expensive/too cold/too windy/too boring (delete as appropriate) is now insisting on a never-say-die attitude from the players with a straight face.
I don’t see the point in a loan for a player who would presumably take several weeks to get up to speed. Unless we’re signing him in the summer I guess.
I’m not opposed to spending a lot of money on someone who’s going to lead by example and let their experience rub off on our other defenders...
His only crime is not taking his job as deathly seriously as the fans during a relatively unimportant period of his work (the end of the game). The smart way to handle it is to keep up the pretence that it’s all a matter of death for as long as the fans can see and/or the cameras are rolling -...
Latibeaudiere is probably quite a useful player to have around for a team with limited resources like us - a utility player with a good attitude who can fill in at various positions when needed. But if he’s starting every week or even acting as captain then something’s not right with the balance...
As I said, it’s not a good look from a PR point of view. But if you seriously think that whether or not you like an Instagram post (or share a joke with a competitor after a game etc) impacts the way you conduct yourself professionally? I bet players think that’s a hilarious attitude.
I can understand why it’s unwise from a PR point of view. From a personal point of view - if my friend celebrates a high-profile and lucrative win on Instagram? I’ll probably like it without thinking.
I imagine players think that fans are pretty stupid for getting wound up about this stuff.
Would’ve been a soft foul in my book.
Strange how there’s multiple posts in this thread after today’s game, but nothing after Cardiff, which was surely the game where the referee had more impact on the result than any other of our games this season.
“Doesn’t look like he was trying to kill anyone” - he loaded a car with explosives primed to detonate in a pedestrianised area after he’d killed himself, injuring seven people.
I wonder why people are being so charitable to this guy’s motives…..what a mystery.
According to police the Vegas suicide bomber was a fan of Trump, Musk and RFK Jr and wanted to blow himself to draw attention to various issues. Although the police don’t want to class it as terrorism (hmm).
