    Championship thread 23/24

Although the play-offs are still a possibility, a top 10 finish isn’t to be sniffed at - especially as we’ve been really shit at times this season. A win on Tuesday will hopefully make the gap between us and Sunderland a bit bigger.

Ipswich are the story of the season. Fair play to them.

Although not a Peterborough player, Al-Hamadi of Wimbledon is kinda double-barrelled…could he be the one?

    2007/08 elite supporter roll call

All of us who went to this should be rewarded with season tickets for life, a new Patek Philippe and a Faberge egg.

    FA cup replay

Agree with the above - I remember the 2-3 FA Cup defeat with Charlton (after being 2-0 up) completely knocked the stuffing out of us and we barely won a game for the rest of the season. And the we all know what happened the season after that.

    FA cup replay

The 1998 cup run was great fun - sat in the Holte End for the famous win at Villa! Still grates that we ended up losing to the Sheff Utd - watched the replay of that via a live screening in the East Stand!

    Transfer targets

Colour of Spring is a brilliant album. Spirit of Eden/ Laughing Stock are two of the greatest artistic statements of all time. Apparently the A+R man of EMI sobbed when he heard SOE for the first time - a) because it was so beautiful and b) because it wouldn’t sell. And then Mark Hollis packed...

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 23rd Dec

I visited Naples in 2022 and had absolute blast. Wonderful city, great value and loads to do. Never felt threatened or witnessed any crime. 1-1 today.

Match Thread Preston North End FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 4th Nov

The point was that, under Robins, we haven’t had these prolonged spells of consecutive defeats/ winless runs. After 1/2 bad results he normally finds a way of stopping the rot.

Match Thread Preston North End FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 4th Nov

The thing that’s stood out over the past 5/6 years, compared to days of yore, is that we haven’t gone through bad runs. The odd bad result/ performance, sure, but I can remember under most previous managers where we’ve gone, something like, 11 games without a win. Or 6 defeats in a row. Under...

    Rob Gurney

Wasn’t Gurney the subject of “physical intimidation” by Gary Pendrey after criticising Strachan in the relegation season (or maybe before then)? Adam Dent was lovely to me when I did work experience at the CET.
