    Sheffield Wednesday "on the pitch"

Not so sure It probably gets wedged in before Wrexham (a) or Ipswich (a) - the only two midweeks free this year. The congestion is already going to be very difficult to manage without adding another game

Under Robins yes. The role was different, he was asked to stay central which didn't work Look at Rudoni's heatmap. The 10 role under Lampard is much more about floating out wide and creating overloads. You need close control in a packed middle, good link-up play and good delivery - BTA has his...

If EMC can play 70 minutes then Saka in the 10 isn't the worst shout. He presses well and can go wide in possession like Rudoni does so we're still playing to his strengths

    Simms and Assante

BTA-Wright-EMC was our front 3 for Derby, QPR, and Oxford Scored 14 in 3 games - that’s how it would work

Frank has passed his first full season test set by King .

King said he likes a small squad but also acknowledged that the squad is thin... Turner said we were trying for 2 players on deadline day that didn't happen (one being confirmed as Rak-Sakyi) Why do people think King is completely happy with the squad?

    Team vs Sheff Wed

Think it’ll be Woolfenden and a formation change over Andrews. Lampard has not played Andrews in the league unless a game has been settled so I doubt he’ll start him If we play Allen & Andrews it’ll be the same midfield that got overrun by Millwall’s second team in the league cup

Good time to play them at the end of a 3-game week, wages unpaid, and points deduction news could take the wind out of them Us playing a day later away in London feels like a bit of a leveller though - especially with doubts over two of our midfielders If Torp/Eccles are available I reckon a...

Think they’ll get it sorted to finish top half. Have a fair few injuries They looked better than Norwich & Brum for sure

    Team vs Sheff Wed

Yeah definitely not - unfortunately if Torp/Eccles are out we may have to I’d argue last night wasn’t a great representation of what our 3ATB would actually look like as we were defending a lead. MvE/JDS would be a lot higher typically

    Simms and Assante

Good to hear we’re already making contact about a winger. Hopefully a midfielder too Interesting about a few players carrying injuries last season. Think we’re going to end up with similar this season as we seem to be getting a knock every other game Fans need to be aware that they don’t...

    Team vs Sheff Wed

I wasn’t sure if it was because of the change to 3ATB or because Thomas was told to go RCB rather than in the middle Could be completely wrong but looked like he was gesturing that he should be in the middle

    Without Rudoni and emc

Top 2 shouts are silly at this point as a lot could change. Sunderland we’re flying this time last year and finished way off autos We need to take it a game at a time & hopefully go into the international break with another 3 points

Video A first day back on the grass for Oliver Dovin. 💪

Nothing from that video suggested he’s ahead of schedule He was doing basic balance movements which is to be expected in the final phase 3 months of recovery

    It’s getting to the point…

Far too early & circumstances can change really quickly Last season we got 27 points in 10 games then followed it up with 13 points in the next 10

The ENGLISH Invincibles(when not cheated by the ref)

I’ll be extremely happy if we manage to keep losses to single figures… only Leeds & Burnley managed it last season

    Judging the Frank Lampard change

Robins is a great man manager who knows how to set up a team to play counter-attacking football. We never looked good in the Championship when he deviated from it & no surprise he’s successful with Stoke playing that way Every manager needs a good team around him. The biggest issue was that...

    Judging the Frank Lampard change

Yeah Sunderland last season ran into issues mid-season as they couldn't keep up their high pressing style that saw them chasing autos. Ended up in the deep-block that sneaked them through the playoffs (I'd argue 9 times out of 10 it wouldn't have)

Won 3-0 there in 2023 when... checks notes... Joe Edwards was their manager. We hadn't won in 6 in the run up to the game. They were truly awful Luckily he's a lot better as an assistant

    25/26 January Transfer Window

By CM I don't mean a direct replacement for Sheaf but someone like Pereira would add a lot of value to our squad I think we are light there - Torp/Eccles/Rudoni all have/had injury issues & Andrews is yet to be trusted unless a game is settled Rudoni is a 90' player so I'm not sure we need...

Being in the top six doesn't mean anything at the start of October. If we take a point away against a likely top 10 team but end up 7th, it is still a good night for us
