    Coventry avoid squad crisis....

That makes sense OSB. A 1k win bonus and a 1k appearance fee could more or less double the wages of some players I'd guess. Assuming hound_dawg's figures are correct, 22 grand for a winning first 11 heading towards 25k if subs are used. If we did reasonably well and win, say, 25 games and draw...

    Coventry avoid squad crisis....

Maybe SISU are worried we might actually win a few games this season? Most seasons Cov doesn't have to folk out much in win bonuses.

    sky blues in court today

So all SISU achieved from this malarky is an increase in the amount to be deposited in the escrow? I can't chalk that up as a win for them if so...

Dagenham & Redbridge: build up thread

I think you might be on to something here Sutty. Could this be an alternative formation, possibly for tougher away games? So, an attacking diamond at home, maybe like this? -----------------Murphy----------------- --Clarke--Malaga*--Wood--Hussey-- ----------------Jennings-----------------...

A guess at the budget figures this season

If leaving the Championship cost us £4m a year (using earlier estimates suggested on here) then, if OSB is in the ball park with his estimate, are Sisu gambling on us going back up? If we do and keep the costs from rising could we break even (*whispers* or, dare I say it, be slightly profitable)...

Your best and worst away games?

This reminded me, there was a night game against the Vile at their place where it rained like someone was pouring water from buckets. Can anyone help me remember when? Hazy memory, but I suspect we lost and that it was at the end of our Premiership years. Was drenched before I got there (water...

Your best and worst away games?

A few away moments that stand out for me include Selhurst Park (everyone standing all game in the seated area to urge 'em on) and Tottenham away (truly electric atmosphere before, during and after the game) on the run where we made the great escape in '97. One year at Portman Road...

Just seen Torchy made the same point. Sorry for the repeat.

    Pick your best two!

Rich, shouldn't the poll question be what do you expect? What I want (as any Cov fan would surely?) is to be Champions, what I expect (personally) is something lower. Sorry if I'm being pedantic! :D

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Pompey should know more than most the consequences of not sticking to their finances, but they keep over spending and someone moans "you should have stopped us". Why can't they take responsibility for their own downfall? But yes, I agree, the game as it stands is something of a festering cess...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

To my mind this thread has not been about envy but astonishment at the things Pompey have tried to get away with. I don't think anyone here would want to be Pompey over Cov, but they would like Pompey to play by the same rules. E.G. If you can only afford to play kids, only play kids.

    Zavon Hines in talks today

Are you referring to Gary Roberts? If you were Coventry's manager, you could not have signed him as the club was under a transfer embargo at the time of his move to Swindon.

    Portsmouth- what on earth

The prospect of facing that game with a team of kids and triallists is the worst-case scenario.
