    25/26 January Transfer Window

Yes, Not excited by O’Nien but he is genuinely versatile which Lati is not. Cirkin would be my choice of the Sunderland players possibly available. Fast and technically good. Bit injury prone by all accounts.

    Championship thread 25/26!

Switched on 10 mins ago but Leicester look awful. A draw might keep Cifuentes there but they could still shit the bed v Cheltenham in the FA cup. Someone said they might not be able to afford to sack him which could be true

Not sure how realistic Wilson would be. Great player but very injury prone unfortunately

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Only on a short term basis for me and i can’t see that being in his or Sunderland’s interests.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Dan Neil is surely a red herring. We will only want him on a short term deal. Sunderland will want a transfer fee as he’s out of contract in 6 months. He will likely be expecting a juicy contract as transfer fee will be lower than normal. Bit risky on his side to accept a short term deal from...

    15/16 Season

We went top mid November after beating Gillingham 4-1 but never really pushed home our advantage and were getting mixed results well before Christmas. Armstrong and Murphy both went seriously off the boil, Kent left, Maddison was injured…..is what I remember.

    Dabo

After seeing him score 2 OGs at Oxford, I’d never have believed he’d be such a good player for us. Just goes to show. Best RB in L1 that year and decent in the early days of the champ until the injuries caught up. A reminder that you have to have a bit of luck to make it to ‘veteran’ status.

    Championship thread 25/26!

Wrexham have done ok but it’s an expensive way to build a team buying older players on high wages with no sell on value. Be interesting to see how the PSR figures look in 2-3 years time.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Leicester have got too many like Winks. Overpaid and underperforming. Part of the pickle they currently find themselves in.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Leeds fans defo not lovers of Piroe but I think they knew he’d be struggling to cut it in the prem. They also didn’t rate Bamford in recent years. Bottom line is that he won’t be perfect but he’d be a very good option in the short term for us if we can get him on loan no strings attached.

    Brau

Sure you’re replying to the right post? I didn’t say he made the wrong decision. I was talking about his awareness levels and communication by the team.

    Brau

Yes the defence did shift over but it was like he was unaware that he had vacated his position and that an opponent might pop up there. That’s not just on him btw, the rest of the team has to spot that too.

    Brau

Brau looked like a fish out of water and lacked discipline. But it’s a home debut against a very good side. By contrast, his cameo v Southampton suggested he can offer something, probably as a LWB though. Too early to tell but it’s not a case of Souness bringing on Gearge Weah’s cousin. KKH has...

    Does your wife/partner like football?

My wife cannot stand football. It’s visceral hatred. When we met, she said she wasn’t fussed about it but that’s massively underselling things. I’m heavily involved in my son’s football which takes up a lot of weekends plus midweek training etc. Then there’s games on TV plus we will get to live...

    Rushworth

It’s totally logical. They’re fattening their goose. He was a bit undervalued after his bad luck last season. Brighton knew we needed a good keeper to push on this year so not much risk for them in turning down our offer to buy.

    Transfer Rumour Dan Neil

People are constantly eyeing Sunderland and thinking it’s where we hope to be this time next year. Boys I was talking to were saying they reckoned Neul clearly wasn’t good enough for the Prem and it was obvious to them he’d be replaced. Before anyone knew how well they’d start.

    Transfer Rumour Dan Neil

Big difference though no? Grimes would still have been first choice if he hadn’t have left. Neil can’t get a game. It’s not sour grapes. The guys I know are basically saying they can see exactly why he isn’t getting a game in the prem.

    Transfer Rumour Dan Neil

Spoke to a couple of Sunderland fans I know. They don’t rate him. Say he looks tidy enough but that he can’t make enough progressive passes and just turns round and plays it back far too often. Le Bris obviously doesn’t see him as PL level. He’s hardly had a sniff this season. Clearly just...

    Latibeaudiere

Lati was very good today. Solid in the first half and much better in a back 5 which is where he is at his best, even if others are higher up the pecking order. Wolf looked tidy. Bidders did well. Mickey Brau looks a very interesting player.

    Ephron Mason Clark

He’s always impressed me with his ability in the air. That was some header today but it’s not a one-off. Hit the post with one v Norwich if I’m not mistaken and I know there’s many contenders but his goal at Derby is still my personal favourite from this season.
