Labour unfortunately seems to face an inherent, recurring problem. Parties of the left based on progressive ideals have to accommodate many different interest groups under one umbrella. The Tories seem to only care about winning and many will happily ditch small c conservative, family values...

Really hope its more mate. Im probably too pessimistic after my previous expectations for a sustained increase in home support havent materialised. (eg 11k a few days after the Gillingham full-house?) 20k+ for Forest should happen, I'd be happily surprised with 16-18k over the season (if we're...

Think we're at cross purposes. I've not suggested our fans are fickle, just the opposite, ie. diehard numbers held up well considering relegations But those home crowds unfortunately havent been as big as other teams who've also tumbled like Portsmouth, Ipswich etc Anyway, I'm probably glass...

I'm as gutted as anyone that our home support hasn't matched other relegated clubs like Portsmouth and Ipswich (even before Sisu) 🤷‍♂️ Lets hope the return to Championship+Ricoh brings in the fans longer term and we see 17k City fans + whatever the opposition bring

Prem in this era would undoubtedly see a huge boost in new fans Shmmeee but the OP was about crowds this coming season. I was quoting past gates to try and illustrate our `core home support' of 8-10k hasn't changed that drastically over last 3 decades.

You'll remember Prem gates of 10k v Ipswich and then 10k in L2. That indicates s a core support no?

    Attendances Next Season

I can count the times I've seen 20k genuine City fans at a home game on one hand Unfortunately our core support base is the St Andrew's attendees plus another 2-3k. If we get 14k average it will be disappointing but expected

Between 1967-2017 we prob lost more football matches than 90% of league teams & cant underestimate the effect that has on crowds. In that period the teams we like to compare ourselves with were either winning the league (Derby twice, Forest, Leicester) or yo-yoing between divisions so had...

F*cking hell. I'll be jumping like a loon if he scores 15+ and helps us to promotion but calling people `scum' for just hoping the lad's more settled now? Welcome back Bright

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Exactly the point I was trying to make. The squad we finished the season with (including Gyo and Sheaf) still seemed 5 short if we were to improve

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

I'm not sure lads but wasnt the season-end consensus that we needed a minimum of 6 additions to improve the squad? The only `new' 1st team signings since are Waghorn and Moore so I can see the argument that we're short.
