IF it is Frank Lampard, then that's perfectly acceptable for me. Lampard has full time EFL experience as a manager, as opposed to Carsley and RVN who do not. He got into the play-offs too, but ended up losing out to Villa, which with some of the quality in that team then is no embarrassment...

Lee Carsley's last role full time role in coaching at club level was with Man City's academy in 2017, where he managed the likes of Foden, Sancho and various others. He did have a caretaker spell at Birmingham at the tail end of 2017, but left in 2018. I agree that it's a risk taking Carsley...

Totally agree, it is a risk for those reasons, however the experience could be resolved with an adequate number two at his side. There are a lot of things going in his favour that are not necessarily going for others linked to the City job, which could benefit us.
