Match Thread Coventry City - Queens Park Rangers Match Thread - Saturday 23rd Aug

Really don’t get the animosity towards xG. Sometimes it tells the story of the game, sometimes it doesn’t. Same as pretty much all stats in isolation.

Think you might have missed the sarcasm there but it’s ok

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

I've not changed the subject, I'm talking specifically about US ballot fraud, as it says in the post you quoted.

Oh... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx271162ee3o Some streets in Birmingham starting to look more like Benidorm

What's your response to the various articles from multiple news organisations that say claims of ballot stuffing at US drop boxes were either right-wing conspiracy theories, deliberate misinformation or both?

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

What happened last year then? The Democrats had a fool-proof way to win the election, took control of the government and then simply forgot to do it again in 2024?

    BTA

Gotta say, when the ball fell to him with only the keeper to beat, I had very little confidence that he would score. But holy shit, was I wrong! What a damn finish.

Disney aren’t paying them anything, are they?

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

A shit team like Queens Park Rangers still managed to score against us, so I would venture that there are other areas in greater need of investment.

I just cant get you out of my head

So where did this one actually come from then? I must have missed it.

    Matty Grimes

I think there’s a legitimate question over whether he can take a team to the next level single-handed (kind of why I started the thread) but he is an extraordinarily consistent player.

The most important day in the clubs history

I mean, it’s horses for courses, people enjoy what they enjoy etc. For me the off-the-pitch stuff pales in comparison to what happens during the games. The rest is just a sideshow to me. I will remember a 7-1 win over QPR in August much more fondly than I will any stadium transaction. I enjoyed...

The most important day in the clubs history

I’m sorry, owning the ground is great and everything, but to say it’s better than securing survival in the Premier League or getting promotion/winning the league is barmy.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Am I the only one who’s not jonesing to see Doug King sell the club? We’re in a strong position on the pitch, seemingly financially secure off it….maybe I’m just risk averse but I don’t really want to trade it all for some bloke from overseas who claims to be a billionaire and wants to turn us...

    Ellis simms

I don’t really see the urgency to sell him unless he’s agitating to leave - we wouldn’t get a great price for him at the moment and whoever we replaced him with would also have to be content with being a backup. Our striker options are perfectly adequate for a system with only one centre...

    Ellis simms

Thought he made some good runs off the ball when he came on, and his raw physicality does give teams something to think about. He still should have done better even today when he came on, but if Ellis Simms is our first option off the bench then we are in a very good situation in terms of strikers.

    Matty Grimes

Absolutely phenomenal today. Completely ran the game, brilliant under pressure, superb vision on the ball. Set pieces were pretty good too.

This story seems extremely random now lol
