Started nine games and subbed in six times for Portsmouth this season, so presumably we should expect to see him starting more often than not if we’re keeping our end of the bargain with Spurs.

There’s the rub with loan deals I guess. If he has indeed been promised more minutes here then we better hope he’s better than our current wingers and he’s ready to go straight away. I’d be happier if he was signed as a rotation option but not many such loan deals out there.

Are you confusing me for someone else or just making stuff up? I’ve said all along we should bring in a winger on loan and I’ve said that Esse is a good signing. What’s dumb is the suggestion that we should bring in half a new team to replace the one that’s already top of the league.

When you have the highest scoring team in the country, the sensible thing to do is to blow up the entire forward line in January and have four strangers play together instead.
