    AFCON 2025/26

That’s certainly one way of interpreting that article! But I appreciate the effort to be objective about it!

There are plenty of penalties that are saveable despite being aimed in a different direction from the way the keeper initially dived.

Starting to worry this Jake Lang fella may not be the intellectual heavyweight that some posters are making him out to be https://archive.is/2026.01.08-183710/https://www.jpost.com/international/article-882691

Yeah I get the cockiness part of it - it takes a lot of balls to not just hammer it. I just think it gets a harsh rep. I don’t know if they’re inherently easier to save - a keeper would know, I guess.

Isn’t the (lack of) pace on the ball a deliberate attempt to stop the keeper from saving it mid-dive? It’s not inherently more or less likely to go in if you hit it hard and the keeper stays dead central, surely?

Isn’t it just someone trying to predict where the keeper will dive like most penalties do?

Incredible how you’ve gone from “play stupid games etc” to claiming that burning a book is some kind of heroic intellectual exercise in a matter of days.

Seems like things heating up in Minneapolis. A right wing influencer planned a rally where he promised to burn a Koran - it didn’t end well.

    Ref watch

Think Lampard has been more vocal about referees’ performances than most of our previous managers, and if it’s a deliberate strategy then it’s hard to say it’s working

    Ref watch

Thought the first pen appeal would have been harsh but would love to see a replay. The second one on EMC seemed nailed on - even more bizarre is watching the replay and the commentator seems to still think it’s not a penalty 😳 I guess it’s a game of opinions…

    Leicester Ratings

People talk about Grimes being fatigued but on yesterday’s showing (after more than two weeks without a game), I think it’s clear his struggles are more down to tactics and how the opposition sets up than him being exhausted.
