    New Kit !

I've had more injuries in the past from iron on badges than sewn on. I've learnt my lesson though, I take them off before I iron on the badges now.

    Pre Season 22/23

What would you put that down to?

    Stephen Hughes and Ben Sheaf

Because that would involve smiling, and we all know Sheaf doesn't do that.

    CCFC lookalikes

I appreciate this one is just me but there's something about Mark Robins that really reminds me of Roland Rat:

    Wasps downward spiral...

Wonder if this coincides with the increased visibility of Joy around the CBS. Just keeps popping up outside Richardson's window:

    Maatsan

Maatsen has a lot of potential to work with and with that a lot of areas still to improve. Think a lot of people forgot he was only 19 for most of the season with us. Needs to get better at his passing and shooting in and around the box as the priority for me, but if he continues to improve like...

    Waghorn

He's clearly brimming with self-belief. You'd have to be to try and get away with those blonde highlights he's got :D

Was that at our feeder club?

Match Thread Stoke City (A) - Sat 7th May 12:30

Didn't think Jones looked at all out of his depth. Always looking to get on the ball, looked strong on it, moved it quickly and accurately.

    Which one

I think people underestimate how quickly Hamer looks to get the ball forward and into dangerous areas when they say he will be easiest to replace. Combine that with his technical ability, he has qualities you very rarely see in defensive midfielders.

    Sheaf

Unless I misunderstood it, the flaw in his recent rankings is CBs playing in 2 vs a back 3. The wide CBs in a 3 have quite a different role, especially in possession, and will have more emphasis on ball carrying and progressive passing so weighting certain characteristics higher than others...

    Waghorn

I like Waghorn as a player. His pressing is good, he has a good footballing brain - he's always looking for triangles, to pass and move and to play 1-2s, can strike a deadball well. Just don't think he's got the speed over 10 metres to trouble defences at this level any more. Like his 1 on 1...

Robins was clearly worried about Carroll and our wingbacks spent very little time in the opposition half during the first half, which I think was a deliberate tactic to not give WBA time to cross the ball from wide. It's not a great formation for playing possession football if your wingbacks are...

Woeful decision for the pen, woeful execution of it and a great save.

Gyokeres has misplaced some very simple passes today. Frustrating.

Far too happy to pass backwards this half from promising positions.

Must be close to bringing Waghorn on for Allen.

Match Thread WBA (A) - Sat 23rd April

Ben Sheaf has been excellent today at dropping into the spaces to offer an outlet for the defence and then keeping the ball ticking over under pressure.
