It was pretty clear to the average football fan he’d score some goals. He was close about 6 or 7 times before he got his first goal for us!

This was massive. Robins used to allow them the freedom to play and push for a third. Entertaining for sure.

Today I saw someone consistently dropping in behind a fullback when they advanced (usually Sheaf) and us managing a game out in the corner of the opposition half. The latter being something I haven’t seen us do for years. It’s different and I hope this continues and we get a bit more composure...

I agree that would have worked better today due to the number of crosses in to the box in the first half. Not taking away from Bassettes ability, but Simms being a unit and a decent first time finisher would have been better to start today.

He quite clearly meant to do that.

He did okay. He’s young. No he’s not the ‘next Tavares’. He’ll have a good career. Lots of people whinging “he’s over rated” etc are simply wrong. He’s obviously impressing in training - professionals and people with eyes can see he is good. All being said, Simms has to start the next game.

Hull second worst team I’ve seen this season (first being Oxford). We have to improve our composure in the opposition box and increase our desperation to get rid of the ball when it goes in our own box.

Have to say we rarely did this game management / time wasting thing under Robins. We’d be going hell for leather for a 3rd.
