    European championships 2020 thread

Talking about Kane being anonymous in every game so far, not specifically this one. We don't create enough chances for him, so he ends up being a passenger.

    European championships 2020 thread

It's the tired old argument of 'he only needs one chance to score', but we rarely provide him with any playing this way.

    European championships 2020 thread

England are just so boring to watch. The lack of inventiveness is just mind-numbing. Basically, we're relying on only Saka and Sterling for creativity.

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

I think some people fail to realise that £1m is peanuts for a player these days in the grand scheme of things (yes, I get that it isn't to us, but in the age of £150m players it's as good as sweet F.A.).

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

I'm certain that we wouldn't have sold Marosi without having a replacement in the building, so we'll have one player in for sure, even if we don't know who it is yet.

    We're signing Dudley Moore bud

    Vintage rumours

I'm sure we were going to loan Henderson back the following season, and then their manager (was it Ricky Sbragia?) got sacked, and that was that.

    Vintage rumours

I seem to recall we were linked with Dean Richards back in the day. Always liked him, so was disappointed it didn't happen.

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Signings are exciting and all that, but since the late 2000s I've rarely heard of anyone we've signed, with the exception of the past-their-best crew (Kilbane, De Zeeuw, Ramage, Hunt, MAF, Yakubu, and the like) or Marlon King and Joe Cole. The rest are just names of random people who may or may...

    Ben Sheaf future

I think we forget how young and inexperienced our team was at the start of the season. The vast majority of players playing at the highest level of their careers, learning to play against bigger, better athletes. And Sheaf more than played his part in keeping us up, at the same time as trying to...

    Pivotal Sky Blue Moments

The moment that stands out for me was one that was out of our hands, but not being able to play European football after winning the cup was a real disappointment; the money and gravitas that could have brought could have changed the direction of the club completely.

    Embargo lifted

Accounts have now been submitted, transfer embargo lifted.

    Ex Player Watch

Must be hard as a player in that position, thinking that one day you might just get your chance playing in the Premier League because the club keep wanting you to stay / extending your contract.

    City 4 Everton 1

That first throw-in puts some of the modern-day so-called long throws into perspective. And Gibson's (?) enthusiasm at the third goal going in was a joy to see. Lovely stuff.

    Club Legends

I don't think anyone's mentioned Keith Houchen so far - he's a legend in my eyes just for that one glorious moment.

    Play-offs

Can't believe he's only 27 tbh. Feels like a lifetime ago that he was here.

    First Team Coach

Why is Cat 1 academy experience essential when we're Cat 2? Or have we moved up to Cat 1?

    Preferred area of strength

I see that I'm the only one who's gone for midfield so far, but imho we're not exactly blessed there right now - O'Hare as the only performing CAM, so one injury away from having no-one we can rely on to play that role. And we have Kelly, Hamer, and Eccles as confirmed in central midfield...

    Kaine Kesler

I quite like Da Costa. I mean, he hasn't been great by any stretch of the imagination, but I really think there's a player in there somewhere. Whether that's a player good enough for the Championship is debatable. And as others have said, we have Burroughs and Eccles who've both got the...

    BBC showing full '87 coverage

Watching the build up was great fun - Killer taking the bride's garter off, the players being interviewed and giving honest answers, the comedy introduction of the squad. The last time I watched the build-up was probably 87 itself, so it brought back a lot of memories and emotions. Great stuff.
