Why I think League 1 is a must for us...

More or less what was posted on this board a few weeks ago:

    Administration

I think that for the fans 'to get real about the situation' will require that they at least understand the few actual facts available and base their opinion on those facts rather than myth, hearsay and speculation. A good place to start will be reading the three FAQ's in the sub forum here...

Why I think League 1 is a must for us...

I disagree with Pax that we need to get relegated to become successful. If we manage to stay up we will benefit from the last years rigerous cost saving excercise and stand in a much better position to many in the league. We're not relegated yet, so let's keep a bit of faith and believe.

    Coventry City financial director quits

Really? The accounts are the status of the club at a specific time in the past. Financing next season is about getting funds to run the club in the future (from july 2012 to june 2013). The accounts will be signed off by the auditors when proof of funds is secured.

    Coventry City financial director quits

I think the accounts have been completed - it's the financing of next season that is incomplete.

We can stay up - Thorn

I think AT wisely tries to take some pressure off the players shoulders when they play away. Ever since that run of away games where we dropped a lot of points in the final minutes I think the players mind have been screwed - we HAVE to win ... surely we MUST win this one ... of course we lost...

    Coventry City financial director quits

ohhh ... more stuff for the conspiracy minded :D Late accounts -> Financial director 'quit' Did he indeed quit? Or was he sacked and left by mutual concent?

    Takeover Update?

Did anyone see the Darren Brown episode where he starts a myth abouth a sculpture of a dog that would provide luck to anyone who touches it? It was interesting to follow how the myth spread from something nobody had ever heard of to most people accepting the lucky dog as a fact of life. Much...

Olympic protest to bring negative media attention to SISU

The olympics is a one-time-in-your-life-only event, it's much bigger than any anger a few hundred ccfc fans may have against some annonymous club owners. Who are you agreeing with that those are the two main drawbacks??? What many posters on this board is crying for is PROOF that somebody...

Olympic protest to bring negative media attention to SISU

I agree with all responses so far. Let me add that the olympics is an international (like in 'global') event - does anybody actually think that the sisu-out protests could be upgraded to an international movement??? I can't wait to see the CNN reports :D

No manager on the month this season for CCFC

There's still time ... Thorn will win the award in April.

    Stuart Linnel Tweet.....Excellent Idea?

Why is he even trying ... new ideas are not welcome here. Innovation must be forced upon us through regulation. And even then we won't have it.

Proper supporters fighting for their club

But who was the only man who could sketch the original investment budget??? Ranson, right? Sisu did not possess any knowledge of football, their job was to provide the money Ranson asked for to run the shop. And who was ultimately responsible for delivering whitin the budget - the board, which...

Proper supporters fighting for their club

Budgets are one thing - realising them is a completely other matter. The gates declined in the period meaning less income. So to stay within the budgets costs had to get cut ... player wages had to come down. If excecuting the cost cuts didn't happen in the same tempo as the income dropped...

Proper supporters fighting for their club

But if Hoffmans investors are to be involved in the excercise to deliver proof of funding, the parties will surely have signed a LOI regarding a takeover or joint adventure. I don't think a LOU would suffice. Anyway, if either were signed, we would surely have heard about it.

Proper supporters fighting for their club

And the two scenarios are very similar to you? No major differencies?

    Club statement

You need to read this piece carefully: http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/15229-Financial-mechanics-at-CCFC

    Club statement

It doesn't work that way - the budget and finance planning is based on what they know and can argue to the auditors. A pending takeover would not delay anything in this matter, as they are supposed to show the club is a going concern and funding is there. Should a take over happen a few days...

    Club statement

That would not delay them in providing proof of funds for next season.

    Club statement

Then the accounts will be accepted, but when the coffer runs dry the club will enter administration. But why on earth would they not deliver? What would they gain? Remember it's not as simple as them saying 'sure, we'll provide the funds', and then the auditors are happy. They actually have to...
