Match Thread Coventry City - Middlesbrough Match Thread - Saturday 12th Aug

MR interview just now, saying Gus wanted to go, and that the funds may allow us to get the 3 or 4 we want. Doug saying not a surprise Vik went, a little more surprised at Gus as he loves the club but he's 26 and wants to progress.

    What’s it all about?

I remember reading a fascinating article about the dancing plague, in which hundreds of people supposedly died due to a dancing frenzy https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_plague_of_1518 The modern-day explosion in the number of trans identifying people reminds me of this - it's a form of...

    Things that annoy you

I moved from the home I'd lived in for 15 years because the new neighbours insisted on playing utterly shit music at all hours, then argued loudly at 3am every other day waking us all up. It's horrible when you live next to people who have fuck all consideration for others. Luckily we landed on...

Match Thread Coventry City - Middlesbrough Match Thread - Saturday 12th Aug

Hopefully others can see and feel the potential in the team, and I'm quite excited about the future, however, I suspect that we're going to continue to struggle for a few games until we find our feet, so I'm going for a 1-1 on this one.

Match Thread ⚽️ Leicester City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Sunday 6th Aug

Haven't read this thread yet so no idea what people have said, but I thought we played really well for the most part, just ran out of steam near the end. Thought the new guys at the back looked really good, Simms was a little clumsy but there's bags of potential there, and the subs weren't...

    Championship thread 23/24

I've listened to a few of Ainsworth's interviews and read a fair bit of the QPR forum over the past few days, and it's clear that their whole season is geared around desperately trying to avoid relegation. Ainsworth has said it repeatedly, referencing the fact that they're one of the bookies...

    New Signings - Season ahead

Player of the season - Hamer Best signing - MvE Disappointing signing - None Surprise performer - Latibeaudiere Top goalscorer - Wright Top assists - Simms I can't bring myself to put any of our new permanent players as the disappointment, just in case they read this thread - I remember how...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I've watched all of the clips on this thread, and I've gradually gone from being underwhelmed, to fairly ambivalent, to slightly optimistic, to wanting to have his children.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Apparently garnered interest from Brentford and Palace in the last transfer window too. Lots of clubs have sniffed around him as other have posted - Inter, Villareal, Rangers - so there's clearly something in his attributes that makes top flight clubs sit up and take notice.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I hope it's Hulk Hogan's 'Real American' entrance music, with Haji Wright stood there in his full Antalyaspor kit for a moment before ripping it into shreds to reveal he's now wearing the new away kit.

Transfer Rumour Van Ewijk - Confirmed

I'm borrowing a lorry off a Dutch fella tomorrow morning. Think his name is Hertz Van Rental.

Some people are over-reacting because they percieve some other people to be over-reacting.

Match Thread Exeter City (a) 29th July

He seems really on it so far this pre-season. Perhaps he's the kinda guy that needs to feel loved, and that's one thing (of many) that our management team are good at.

Simms having a bit of a stinker so far. Getting into good positions though.

    Team to play Leicester

I think we'll line up like this: Collins - MVE Latibeaudiere McFadzean Binks Bidwell - Sheaf Hamer - Palmer - Godden Simms Personally, I'd have Simms on his own and have Tatsu alongside Palmer ripping it up, but this pre-season has been 2 up top and I'm not sure that'll change for game 1.

    Premiership loans

This question always makes me sad. Yes, we've got / had some great players for the respective levels over the past few seasons, but - and I'm sure people will disagree - for me, Fadz is probably MRs best signing. He's a leader and a warrior, and whilst occasionally clumsy and slow, he's...

Strongest current team. To be updated through the Transfer window..

I can't see Fadz being left out at this stage - his experience is vital, as most of the other defenders are still relatively young and new to the club. I think Fadz and Wilson will start the first few games at least, just to have a relatively experienced and consistent spine to the team.

    The gyokeres money

The only trouble with having a lot of promotion clauses is that next season our budget will have already taken a hit.
