Don’t get me wrong, if that was our plan we were definitely shit at it. I actually though we were better when we stopped the whole “football” thing and turned it more into a war of attrition; lots of fouls, ball getting hoofed out of play etc. That seemed to stem the early pressure.

I thought it looked like that’s what we were trying in the 1st 20 mins last night, just executed it very poorly and didn’t manage to get a worthy counter together.

I would actually argue he was in the 5 worst players last night, but I hear you. Maybe I’m being too quick to judge as it was against good opposition. At the moment I just can’t foresee him coming good given his attributes.

Is this something you know about or just speculation? I think it would be best for both parties tbh though. I imagine the Champ is pretty different football-wise to the Spanish 2nd division (I think that’s where he came to us from?).

Grimes has essentially looked like the only midfielder at times, up against 3 Ipswich midfielders.

If we press the keeper, they will have even more space to pass through the middle of the park!

Could have been a lot worse. Weathered the early storm and then seemed to just turn the game into a bit of a battle - which certainly suits us more at the moment Ipswich playing right through our middle far too often. The save from Rushworth was something else.
