Joe Cole agrees deal with Tampa Bay Rowdies

Coach in Cov or stroll around a pitch in Florida and be treated like monarchy? Tough one.

Yep. George Best played for Fort Lauderdale. Pele for Cosmos.

Joe Cole agrees deal with Tampa Bay Rowdies

Former Cov/Rowdies....I think there's more, but off the top of my head; Wegerle and Allardyce. (Steve Hunt played for New York Cosmos.)

Joe Cole agrees deal with Tampa Bay Rowdies

They play in St. Petersburg, downtown, on the bayside. They'd get better attendances if they were in Tampa.

Joe Cole agrees deal with Tampa Bay Rowdies

Similar, but definitely worse here, given the overall lack of football knowledge throughout the club. Only Stuart Campbell (coach) and Perry Van Der Beck (assistant GM) have a real, in depth knowledge of the game. And it's Cambell's first managerial gig.

Joe Cole agrees deal with Tampa Bay Rowdies

Their best player by a country mile is Tamika Mkandawire, who Rick signed from Shrewsbury.

I watched Carl Cort finish his career there. Cringeworthy.

Joe Cole agrees deal with Tampa Bay Rowdies

The setting is as good as it gets. The standard of the NASL is dreadful. I'd put it at League 2, at best. Al Lang is a repurposed baseball stadium with an average fanbase of 4,000. The owner knows nothing about the game, and nor do his advisers. There's an openly stated one year plan...

    Worst CCFC Team - Manager

Strachan wasn't the worst, even if you take in to account the quality of players he worked with, and their value in monetary terms. You need not look further than Thorn, who was a non-manager. And Butcher, if you want a runner-up.

    Worst CCFC Team - Manager

Strachan was not the worst, but did lose his way with us....especially given he had a wedge of parachute money to spunk away...which he did. I don't think anyone would challenge the opinion that; towards the end of his tenure, we played some utter garbage football. Giving his son Gavin 16...

Thanks a lot 'Cov fan' in block 14

Could've been worse, he could've been holding a packet of Mentos

    Worst CCFC Team - Strikers

Lee Mills was initially on loan from Pompey. During his first game at HR everyone sang 'Sign him up, sign him up, sign him up'. We did. And, after that, he was crap. But he was not the worst. Lightbourne was clueless

This was my era . what was yours ?

Same as Drinkell the following year. However, Bannister was a far better striker imo.
