I think I’m into the fact he’s dropped down a level just to get game time / minutes. He didn’t have to do that and could have just rotted in the reserves at Brentford. I’m assuming he must have a decent character based on this.

Double pivot of Onyeka / Grimes would certainly help when full backs high and we are caught on the counter.

I’m reasonably happy. I would have liked to have seen a very experienced defender come in, either a LB / CB or someone who can do both roles. But for me the legs in midfield have been the main thing.

Haven’t even seen Markelo play yet so I’m fully reserving judgement on that one myself. Not seen enough of Minnie yet to properly form an opinion, just looks like a very young player so difficult to ask too much of them immediately.

He’s had very few minutes even without Onyeka here so I agree. I’d just rather him as a bench option than some of the other more “attacking” options for away games.

Fair, but I would probably have Allen over Bidwell and Yang on that bench as KKH can cover both sides as can (apparently) Markelo. But that’s because I am unexciting and if we ever went 1-0 up away from home again, I’d just sub on loads of defenders and midfielders.

I agree Torp and Eccles better players but I think both of them will still start relatively often. I think Allen will remain on the bench.

At least stick to your guns here, you could even be right, then we can argue about it later on!

Also @ptr put some respect on Jamie Allen’s name, he can do a job in midfield off the bench for sure. And before anyone says “Latibeaudiere plays midfield for Jamaica” I’d like to point out, if Jamie Allen was Jamaican he would probably be their best centre back.
