just downloaded it and its a windows file so cant install on my mac:( found the mac version

hello, currenty editing some video for a project and I'm really struggling to open this .m2t file on my mac as in uni were using windows computers and it opens on them but not macs. can anyone suggest away to open it or in a program which i can edit the video as ive got to have the project...
