8 games? That's one long "new manager bounce" mind...🤣

Because he stays within FFP and a sustainable business model. Aside from when we had parachute payments way back when, we tend to operate in phases when averaged out. Loans need to be paid back over time and seen to be done so, including from any other company he owns. This means we have a...

Oh arse. Tbf hoping he may get the vote of confidence for another five games or so was always a bit of a stretch.

It isn't "the wealth of their owners" that is moving them forward any more though, is it? It was in their promotion from non-league, League 2 and had a hand in their promotion from League 1, but now in this league, up against clubs with more in their owners' bank accounts,it's a lot down to...

Would be a shrewd signing by the "plucky underdogs"...🤔🤣

This can only be a good thing, as both sides get the game squashed into another run of league fixtures, so get less recovery and prep time for the next league fixture. I hope Ipswich beat Wrexham in the cup personally and get another fixture squashed into their run in too.

Looking at it from your point of view, it's hard to imagine being anything but happy after yesterday's results. Granted, everyone else currently in the top 6 won which ought to be kept in the back of our minds, but feasibly the likelihood is that it's 2 from 3 for the autos, so you only need 1...

I'll give it a go mate; Happy weekend, can't catch you, have head start on Ipswich. They bigger squad, more dosh, less injuries, us slim points advantage, better fixtures. Better? Doesn't read as well mind.

Nah, tbh you could win 10-nil on Monday and we'd still be over the moon with this weekend.🤣 The point is, we don't think we're catching you. You do what we do in our away games of late, grind out a result, and the points will keep coming for you. Perhaps not at the rate that you were racking...

It's a foolish Boro fan that doesn't recognise and respect the Hoodoo. It doesn't matter what form respective sides are in, on the day it's almost guaranteed we will find a way to lose against 2 sides in this league, that's yourselves and Bristol City. Whether it's us suddenly playing like...

From our perspective, the first half today was the worst 45 minutes I can remember us playing under Hellberg. It was a Typical Boro event all over, Robins always seems to set hs stall out well against us. The second half we played more of our usual game, Kim's subs were the right ones, Browne...

I hope he's kept in the job for another 6 games personally, before getting the bullet after a defeat against us, then them having a nice new manager bounce for Ipswich 2 games later. Homes against Oxford & Charlton next up should help.

They were a decent sides when we played them in the reverse fixture tbh. We were top of the table at the time (in fact I think it may have been the game that you jumped us) and had them at home. They were efficient, solid defensively and whilst not pulling up trees in attack, still actually had...

Like Kris says (whilst we're still dominating games, as we always tend to do so) it's much more of an air of efficiently grinding out results as you have been of late, rather than absolutely blowing teams away like we both did earlier in the season. Our results haven't really outshone yours...

Indeed he did. He was part of Wee Ginge Gordon Strachan's patriotic but doomed experiment to bring "The Best of the Best" down from Scottish football in his determined opinion that the Scottish Prem was the same level as the championship, if not a little higher. He spunked our entire parachute...

    Checking in

In a strange twist of fate, your slump was identical to ours, with 3 losses and a draw, it's just that yours was 2 games later amd 1 of the games was in the cup. Ipswich having the very same slump coming up would be delightful.

It's the main reason (using 2 PPG) I suggested 88 points would all but guarantee the autos for a side, aside from a completely freakish run from the side that would finish in 3rd. As 2PPG is the most that I think us AND Ipswich could feasibly BOTH get, considering we have a face off game as...

Snap and I want no parachute teams to go up at all. I'd quite like Preston or Millwall to do the Wembley win, assuming we both get the autos if course.

The average placing of a side we've faced since he came in is 12.8th (yours 11.6th in that period) so average really. 5 Homes, 5 aways, same as you. We have had the most first teamers out injured in the championship in his reign though (quite a few long term, ie will be out for months...

    Championship thread 25/26!

Nah he's right, we're actually the biggest chance creators in the league recently. It's having a striker who can bury them we're lacking. That and our multitude of accomplished yet injured defenders out obviously. Hellberg's average PPG is 1.9, which would see us finish on 85 - 86 points. Of...
