never underestimate the ego of the football manager.
Imagine being known as the man who turned Coventry City around and got them back on their feet.
Same with the amount of foreign managers who would take the England job, it must be a ball ache but imagine the kudos you'd get if you're the one...
if it is a decent length of contract then I 'd imagine he was given certain assurances regarding budget then it's another curve ball in the futile pursuit of trying to guess what the fuck our owners are up to.
not sure why so many people can't grasp this. He's doing what he's been asked to do, unfortunately it in no way progresses the football club which should be his remit.
while agreeing the the main thrust of your post, that there is something underlying badly wrong at the club, you still can't absolve managers of all blame for what has gone on and slade in particular.
