Foreign players who never really made it...

Cedric Roussel did ok. Clement should have been a top player for us. Got injured then Strachan never gave him another look in. Ended up playing over 100 times for Belgium.

Sky Blue youth superstars who never made it...

Gallacher joined us as a winger but mostly played as a forward. In terms of effectiveness Bennett provided more for us than Hadji did, as he was far more consistent. However, Ndlovu was ahead of them all in my book.

    TV Game

How much do we get for a televised game? If say the crowd is 3,000 would the TV money definitely cover our drop in attendance? I suspect there will not be much in it.

Sky Blue youth superstars who never made it...

Looks like the 1969/70 team had the biggest success rate including Alan Dugdale, Jimmy Holmes, Denis Mortimer, Mick McGuire, Bobby Parker and Les Cartwright. Colin Randell also had a decent league career at Plymouth. David Icke of course took a different path!! Ironically the once we won it in...

Sky Blue youth superstars who never made it...

That's pretty harsh. Yes McSheffrey was highly rated, and perhaps could have achieved more but he had a pretty good career. There are plenty others named here that were as highly rated as youngsters, but then barely played a dozen games. I

It was under SISU. Got a feeling Hoffman gave it as his reason for resigning from the board, or was it Ranson, or both?

Sky Blue youth superstars who never made it...

Think we had a left back called David Barnes in the early 80's who was a youth international. Played a few games but that was it. Another one who had a great reputation was Richard Spong, who came from Sweden as the new Roland Nilsson. He played in one of our youth cup finals but seemed to...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Gillingham Match Thread - Saturday 24th Aug

McCallum was excellent last night, but Saturday will be a completely different game, with different requirements. Gillingham are likely to sit back and our full backs are likely to play a more attacking game than a defensive one, and as such I think we need a more right footed player, so maybe...

Next 5 matches, how many points

I hate these threads. Whenever we get ahead of ourselves we inevitably go on a losing run. One game at a time please :)

    The ever improving Brandon Mason

He has been excellent, but I get the impression Robins really rates McCallum. Nice problem to have two such fantastic prospects though.

    Coventry City Fanzine

I always thought The West Ender was the best of our 80's/ 90's fanzines

Why were the Portsmouth mascots doing a nazi salute as their players came out??

    Oggy on the radio

I agree that Cattlin is very entertaining. Also thought Andy Blair was ok, and more surprisingly Noel Whelan & Gary McSheffrey too.

    Loans - let’s not bother

In an ideal world this would be the case, although I'm not too against the principle of season long loans. However, as things are at the moment we have to be in the market for loan players, so as to not lose a competitive edge on our rivals.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Exeter City Match Thread - Tuesday 13th Aug

Seeing as Wilson, Pask, Hyam, McCallum & Eccles played no part in the under 23 game yesterday, they must all have a good chance of playing tonight. Possibly even Burroughs too!

    Kastaneer, Allen, Godden

Not sure I agree with your judgement on Hiwula's workrate. I think that is a weakness & he noticeably disappears for long periods in games. I think of the current team Shipley & Kelly cover far more for Mason than Hiwula does. I do share your worries about Godden being isolated though, given...

Video Match Highlights - Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Sky Blues

I have to say that cheered me up. Remember thinking when Jobello 'scored' that the celebration was a bit OTT, & that if we hadn't spent so long celebrating, the ref wouldn't have had the time to think through the offside decision.

Match Thread Bolton Wanderers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 10th Aug

Much depends on our attitude to the game. If we don't score early I would worry about it turning into the type of game, like the pre season matches we have against inferior sides like Nuneaton, that we invariably make hard work of. I hope I'm worrying about nothing, but years of being a City fan...

Match Thread Bolton Wanderers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 10th Aug

Great turn out by our fans given the circumstances. Enjoy the day all that are going, and of course celebrate if we win and when we score, but I like to think we would show some empathy with their supporters and their predicament, and leave out the 'banter' for today. Just concentrate on...
