My problem though is, though they look to have a good level of skill and the attributes to do well, they seem to lack spirit, fight and determination. Where's the will to win? 4 games out of 6 now we've taken the lead and thrown it away.

    Ince

A winning mentality? The same Ince who in his last job took Notts County on a run of 9 straight defeats and then left by mutual consent shortly after and hasn't had a job since? That Ince?

    Time for coffee

Have people woken up yet I wonder? A few on here I recall saying before the season that they felt we would go the entire season unbeaten at home. Crazy talk of course. Remember arguing the point at the time, asking as to where on earth the sudden winning attitude would come from after season...

    88 mins 58 secs

After 25 mins it was hard to even spot him on the pitch.

    88 mins 58 secs

We lacked any fight. Seemed to have no urgency about us at all. Shame Adam Barton wasn't playing today. Would have been interesting to know if he would have made any difference or is just the luxury player who disappears out of games as the Preston fans were saying.

I refer to my last post

Not wanting to have another Thorn debate, but at the moment it looks like he has brought in 9 players with no fight in their bellies, who lack, spirit, determination and a will to win. You can't just throw 11 good players together and expect a good team. You probably need a lot less Adam Barton...

    88 mins 58 secs

Anyone who recorded the game on Sky today, play it back and fast forward to 88 mins 58 secs and freeze frame it just about there. McGoldrick has the ball on the left flank and is just lining up to cross the ball. In the picture are 8 Stevenage defenders, all in and around the box, 4 inside, 2...

    Stevenage Match Thread

That was just disgraceful. Looking for an equaliser, McGoldrick has the ball in a good position on the wide left, hits a ball into their box and there are about 7 Stevenage players in there and just two City forwards.:facepalm:

Steve Staunton in the crowd taking notes

16% win ratio in his last management role at Darlington. Match made in heaven.

I didn't want him either but he was a popular choice.

New Manager Shortlist down to 9

And it was the original Tintin twins I was alluding too of course, not the squeaky irritating band of the 80's.

Iain Dowie wasn't a journeyman and was a very popular choice and a name a lot of people were talking about.

New Manager Shortlist down to 9

9? Seven Dwarves and the Thomson Twins?

Who will we blame to today?

Maybe the fans will blame people whose fault it is. Just a thought like. Booing a player is totally wrong but Hussey was beyond awful on Tuesday and was very much part of the fault. If it's someone's fault they usually get blamed.

Of course. I was joking about the way he worded his post.

Why do we need a well known name though? We have had household names before who have had a proven past and they have failed. We just need the right bloke, I don't care if he's known across the world or we've never ever heard of him. Makes no difference. We just need someone who will do the...

Fisher new boss in place for Stevenage

Said it pretty soon after sacking Thorn. Probably the Monday or Tuesday. It was just a hope though.

Not so certain you can speak on behalf of Richard Shaw to be honest. He may well decide to continue, who knows.

Fisher new boss in place for Stevenage

Yep, he said they were 'hoping' to have the new manager in charge for the Stevenage game. Think someone has alluded to the fact it may be due to the amount of applications we had. Could equally however be down to the fact that all the 40+ applicants were rubbish and they wanted to wait and see...
