I think we’re the 3rd largest City with one club ‘behind Leeds and Bradford, although That would be measured by city population only and not contiguous urban area. If you went on population of the urban area we’d also be behind Newcastle, Leicester, Middlesbrough and possibly Brighten

A clubs financial position is no longer dependent on fan base and attendances. With all the Sky BT money ‘a well run smallish club can survive in the Premier league for years.
