    Something's happening!!! - Michael Rose New Contract

    So far that’s Norwich Selling LB Jamal Lewis to Newcastle for 15m, CB Ben Godfrey (likely ) to Everton for 30m and Barcelona, Roma & AC Milan fighting over LB Max Aaron’s for 20m. So that’s 3 defenders for 65m from a team relegated whilst conceding 75 goals :unsure: go figure!!!

    I was just pointing out that on that old map there are no buildings shown on the other side of Swan Lane, so it probably wouldn’t have been to big a deal to move the road further from the stadium, once buildings were built there that option was lost. Its a lighthearted take and I’m obviously...

    So Swan lane at the back of the Spion Kop hampered all attempts at stadium redevelopment and expansion at that end of the ground for decades, resulting in at least two odd shaped stands being built to accommodate the road out the back :unsure: for no real reason.     Taken from what would appear to be almost the same spot but nearly 40 years on, the old West End didn’t look to have aged to badly :giggle:

    Just seen this posted on FB, the West Stand under under construction and near completion in the summer of 1967, apparently only took 12 weeks to complete. Surely the most iconic stand from the Highfield Road era.
