Match Thread Colchester United vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Nov

A lot of expensive away games recently, and not one to warm the cockles. Fair play to all going. I'm just about to sort arrangements for Shrewsbury away, as I've not been there before. Happy with a draw or win ( draw because it'll use up a Max suspension game)

    Max biamou

Max has come back from injury, through bloody hard work and the fitter he gets, the more he should improve. He will always put a shift in and what I liked last night was his first goal- good lay off, clever movement in the box and great strike, The third goal was the usual Max belter. Although...

Colchester local rag suggests their manager may play some fringe players due to their schedule too.

By being put in the shop window, do you mean he's being picked?

    Godden injury

If we can stay in touch around the top 6 and the returning players come back fit (I'd be happy if 2 of Allen, Jones and Godden make it back properly - although I'd love all 3 to), then we'll have a great chance of pushing on for the rest of the season. Josh Pask impressed in pre season too, and...

    Honeymoon over

Attendances include Accrington, Fleetwood and Wimbledon. Next is Rochdale. When Ipswich, Sunderland and the like turn up attendances will climb a bit. Yes it's a ball ache, but we need to keep our club alive. On the plus side, the footie is much better quality than last season, and in January...

I thought there was some weird rule where Biamou can't play due to red card, but it still didn't count towards the 3 game suspension. Edit: different for yellow cards, so Fadz I think can play, but Max can't ( waits to be corrected!!)

    Robins to Stoke?

'I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour, but heaven knows I'm miserable now' Don't know why, but it made me feel as though you had been drinking before you posted?

    Wasps downward spiral...

Mmmmmm - if I;d walked out into my old seat (opposite players tummel) and CCFC had announced 10k crowd, I'd have laughed myself silly. No way there looks that many.

    A little perspective

Wycombe - new owners (cleared debt) Ipswich (bigger) Sunderland (bigger) Oxford? (but surprised if it wasn't bigger) Fleetwood - not sure how they're financed, as their crowds shouldn't be able to support the quality of players they have. All I'm saying is I think MR has done well overall with...

    A little perspective

    S u p p o r t e r s E x p e r t s C r i t i c s If MR had Sunderland's budget - then he deserves criticism. He doesn't have. We are in the top 6 despite awful officiating and injuries and yes, poor finishing, but playing good football - perspective is an appropriate word

    St Andrews

Tranmere (televised), Fleetwood, Accrington and Wimbledon. The atmosphere for those at the Ricoh would have been bouncing (and yes, I do want to get back at some point)

Could do with the win and the £10k for winning. Can afford to pick a reasonably strong side, including Shipley and whoever they intend to use as cover for McFadz on Saturday. Interesting to see who he picks up front - Kastaneer/Bremang ? (although they looked a bit powder puff against Ipswich...

    Robins comments on Hiwula

If it was a dig, I'd rather he didn't go public with it, and sort it out behind closed doors, Airing your dirty washing in public and all that. Also - bit of a daft time to fall out with a striker with what we are down to up front.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Nov

For all the criticism, we were comfortably the better team. Would people sooner watch us or Accrington? Even when the result hasn't go our way, we have played decent football this season, and we have had to deal with a shed load of injuries.

    Officials

Smiling now, but he really had a bit of a shocker - think that's the most I've ever booed at an official during the game (and normally, I rarely do)

    Rugby World Cup

Everybody wants to be associated with a winning team -had to laugh at my 85 year old stepfather, when I mentioned the General Election. He said 'I don't know if I'm going to vote as I'm not sure who's going to win it' ?!?!?!
