    Toenail Poll

Ah... my apologies! The thing that gets me with this is that it surely isn't something which accidentally happened. It must be something people sat down at some stage, discussed and thought 'That makes sense!!' Also irrelevant to me in this case because when onana was booked for time wasting he...

    The no loans strategy

Well... okay... I suppose it depends on your definition of expensive but I will grant you that actually. Short term, it can be a much cheaper way of bringing in quality you can't afford to buy. I suppose if you look at hull - if they don't make playoffs they are in the same place as us but all...

    The no loans strategy

Yeah, the club were clearly aware of that and trying to bring in cover for Sakamoto/Wright. If you read the MacAntony articles Doug pushed really hard to get EMC in and at one stage walked away to pursue other options when it became clear that we wouldn't get him til the summer. Presumably those...

    The no loans strategy

Is there an argument that this year was a major rebuild and therefore going big on loans makes more sense next season when we really want to make a big push and have a better idea of the limitations of the players we own?

    The no loans strategy

I was going to ask a similar question. Loans are expensive and lead to unsettled sides so if you are trying to build and have the money buying is a pretty wise move. We did loan two players - although admittedly one didn't work out and was sent back. I also wonder whether Doug was a bit caught...

    Toenail Poll

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/68871152 Make your own mind up. For me it goes down with the toe nail thing as, okay maybe you could technically argue onana should be penalised... but really...

Also fwiw - no, I think cheated is the wrong word, but I also thinking calling something offside by such a tiny margin through VAR when considering the circumstances, body positions etc etc isn't in the spirit of the game.

Yellow cards are reset at the end of injury time if you didn't know. If you did know and just think it is a stupid rule... well that's a fair point. Also I would question why the second yellow didn't come sooner.

    24/25 changes?

I honestly think we'd want similar money as we got for Hamer. Sheaf has put in good performances against prem teams. I just don't know that the market is there. Of course that can all change if somebody else moves for big money and Sheaf is identified as his replacement.

    24/25 changes?

Interestingly I looked him up on transfermarkt (I know, I know) and it has him at €3.8m. Feels like a lot of those values need updating after the season gone but was surprised to see Eccles being worth more at €6m.

    24/25 changes?

I'd like to think he could (and will with us) but he is looking top end championship/bottom end prem. Does he fancy a move to Sheffied? The prem club's you could rely on spaffing money away like Forest are now under restrictions so you are looking at maybe wolves/Fulham/idk? Are they entering a...

    24/25 changes?

I don't necessarily disagree but it is very dependent on whether the right offer is in the table and I'm not sure I see anyone offering what we'd want for him. He's not flashy like Vik and Gus and the market might well be dead this summer. What do we think we could get for him? If it's less than...

    24/25 changes?

I have a feeling there might be a few fire sales this summer with teams desperate to comply with FFP. Any money from the Gyokeres transfer might go further than we think. That said I can't see much strengthening of the first 11 beside a replacement for CO'H. I think mostly we will be looking at...

    New number one needed

So probably not quite as clear cut as that but - was he the man you would be looking at if you wanted to replace last season's golden glove winner? I am very doubtful. I think when you look at it in the context of him likely being brought in as a number 2 you have to say he has had a very good...

    New number one needed

So... I try not to be negative. I'd seen a bit of Collins before we signed him as he played for a local team and my assumption was he was being signed as a number 2 to Wilson. I still feel that was the intention but Wilson's dip in form forced their hand.

Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Wednesday 24th Apr

That's it for me. Win today and Saturday matters, win Saturday - Ipswich matters, win that and sell out the last day with a little something riding on it.

Same for me, I can see us either coming out swinging and smashing them or just dying on our feet.

Not sure I care about the result today. I'm just looking forward to spending a couple of hours cathartically chanting about things the powers-that-be can shove up their backside to the tune of 'she'll be coming round the mountain'. 'You can shove your VAR/Offside laws/box of crayons up your...

    Peter Bankes needs investigating

Don't do this to yourself. In my opinion the decision was wrong but this guy was just doing his job. In my view it is the offside rule itself that is to blame. He has applied it and come up with an answer that is not in the spirit of the game but... it is what it is. Rough justice is part of...

    We NEED to appeal that.

I do feel like we are focussing on the wrong thing here. VAR has arguably done it's job - but the offside rule is totally broken and utterly incompatible with technology. The rule used to be - level is on; benefit of the doubt to the attacker. We've now moved to a 'fact based' system that has us...
