    Blaze offer for City fans

But when they were in Solihull was that ever a permanent thing? It sounds like the plan was to use a new rink in Birmingham but when that didn't happen they had to use Solihull as an interim venue while finding somewhere of a size in line with the rest of the league. In terms of revenue all...

    Blaze offer for City fans

So essentially the Blaze were a new team who happened to play in Solihull while waiting for a new rink, Coventry coming into the frame when the plans in Birmingham fell through. That doesn't really seem like franchising to me.

    Blaze offer for City fans

What actually happened? I remember when I was a kid there was Solihull Barons. Then when I moved back from Canada with an interest in hockey there was the Blaze and still the Barons so who did we move?

    The Trust..?

No one knows if this is true. They've claimed they've 'moved on' from the Ricoh so they aren't going back there. They claim there will be a new ground but there's no site or plans and I'm pretty sure they've said the new stadium will be outside the city so that's not really bringing the club...

Guess the gate for Hartlepool replay

What's the weather like up there? If it's anything like down here they'll be stuggling to get 1000. Can't see many away fans coming and we won't have season ticket holders to rely on to boost the numbers.

Didn't Anne Lucas say that Christmas was the Council's deadline?

Unless they're going to knock the stadium part down 'moving on' isn't really too much of an issue is it? They may stop maintaining the pitch and may book other things that would impact of availabilty for use on matchdays (as they already have with the gaming thing) but surely if the stadium is...

The club needs to hold the freehold.

I can't think of any scenario beneficial to the football club that requires ownership of the freehold. The only benefit I can see is for SISU. If they can obtain the freehold at below market value they can debt load against the security of the freehold and use that money to pay off some / all of...

    Brian Moore...NOPM

The FA / FL will most likley do nothing as usual but it would actually be a very easy thing for them to prevent. Presumably the golden share names Hull City so they should just tell the owner that if he changes the name the new club won't have a share and will go to the bottom of the pyramid.

So your argument is that if we ignore all the big games where the crowd would be too big for the proposed stadium the ground will be big enough?
  11. chiefdave

    Sandra Garlick

The reason given by SISU for needing this new ground is we need access to more revenues. Since moving to the Ricoh there have been 54 games where the attendance has been greater than will be possible in the proposed new stadium, that's a lot of lost revenue in ticket sales alone. That is before...

    Shareholder's meeting.

if we're getting a 60 acre site that should cut down the options so can those who live locally suggest sites that would be that big and not in green belt?

    Shareholder's meeting.

    that's only the top 6, if you look at all attendances that would be too big for the proposed new ground by season then you get this: 2005/06 - 16 2006/07 - 12 2007/08 - 11 2008/09 - 5 2009/10 - 3 2010/11 - 3 2011/12 - 3 2012/13 - 1 Actually when you look at what has happened...

    Shareholder's meeting.

How would that work? Isn't it set up so ACL own the lease and CCC own the freehold. 2 seperate entities owning 2 different things. How does it follow that if SISU buy the freehold ACL gets wound up and what happens to things like the loan, balance of lease value etc?

Sisu boss Joy Seppala rejects council offer to play at Ricoh Arena rent-free

I work regularly with AEG and I've asked before when this has been raised and had the people I work with ask around and no one at AEG seems to know anything about this, the comment I always get back is they have a very good working relationship with ACL that they are more than happy with (it is...

To be honest I feel like giving up. It's not easy to walk away from supporting your team but this just feels like a slow lingering death. Nothing to do with being a City supporter is enjoyable anymore. We're now faced with months / years of the JR dragging on. There's no sign of the team leaving...

Cov Back To Ricoh speaking to Ann Lucas Today

This is a key point. It seems they are claiming every person that goes to a game spends £80 in the local area. Even if you take that figure as being correct for the whole amount to be lost from the local economy they are stating every person that went to a game no longer spends a single penny of...

Cov Back To Ricoh speaking to Ann Lucas Today

That works out somewhere in the region of £80 spend per ticket sold, seems high to me. When I go to games I drive up from Pompey, park for £2 near the fire station, walk to the ground, watch the game, walk to the car and go home. If it's really cold I might buy a cuppa at half time. So my total...

I'm doing nothing of the sort. I'm highlighting SISUs complete and utter incompetence using the facts you supply. If you state that having 25% of ticket revenue spent on rent is a clear road to bankrupcy it then follows that if SISU haven't noticed this for 5 years they are highly incompetent...
