    Ratings v Reading

Moore 7 McFadz 8 Hyam 8 - Excellent today against the team who released him Dabo 7 - Not a centre back, but his cross led to equaliser. Pask and Drysdale must be finished here not to make the team today Da Costa 6 Maartsen 7 Hamer 7 Sheaf 8 O’Hare 7 Gyk 7 Waghorn 6 - He doesn’t look fit to me...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

To be fair to Da Costa, it was a horrible time to be introduced, with Blackpool ramping up the pressure, and playing on his least preferred side.

    Robins era best signing

Kelly - Considering he was a Non League player when signed (Orient had been relegated) this was a class move Biamou - Plucked from Non-League and was an important player in getting us promoted from League 2 McFadz - Exactly what we needed. A hard, no nonsense centre back.

Think we have a definite upgrade in Sheaf, who can pass the ball but also has some grit. As someone else said above, in the right team, and role he could probably play in the Championship (certainly League 1) but how many all out passing teams are there in these 2 leagues?

    Match Thread Reading

Despite the great win last night, Blackpool did open us up 3 or 4 times. I can't decide if that's because they are actually a decent team, or if we're still not great defensively, and Reading score goals. I'll go for 2-2

Match Thread Blackpool away Match thread

One of the worst games I have ever watched. After the glory of the Playoff final a few months ago, this was down to earth with a bump. Max going off with an ACL, to be replaced by Baka who then was substituted. Don't think we created anything.

    Jake Clarke-Salter

I think we have seen flashes of Da Costa's ability when he's on form. However his performance away at Norwich on his debut last season (1st half) was shocking, but then he was probably the best player on the pitch 2nd half. If Robins and Viveash can work on his consistency, he could be a decent...

    Out the door

I always liked Shipley in League 1 & 2. A midfielder with an eye for a goal, left footer etc. However last season he really seemed lost at times, and his better performances at the end of the season (goals against Huddersfield & Millwall) might of papered over the cracks. I would keep Allen at...

As Rose is starting, Robins must be pretty confident a new CB will be in shortly.

    Ben Sheaf Assist

He oozes class, and will only get better. I thought we missed him at the tail end of last season. Need a grafter alongside him, so he can dictate play which is his game. Hamer is not that player, and should be further forward, I would imagine Kelly will be the man when he's fit, allowing Hamer...

Although Jones needs minutes no doubt, I'd keep him on the bench for this one, and give him another 30 mins or so. No point risking him against a lower league team, when he's still coming back

That make the bench look weaker. At least with Bright, you've got someone who could change the game.

Whats Left/ Who do you want ( within reason)

An (ideally quick) left sided centre back - I don't want to see Hyam jogging out of the defence and playing a shit ball then getting turned again. I like Hyam, but he has to be in the middle of the 3. Centre Mid - With Eccles injury, this has to be a priority before Sunday. Unless Jack...

    Matty Godden

Classy striker that doesn’t rely on pace, so therefore could be playing at this level for another 3-4 years. A fully fit Godden being fed by O’Hare, Bright and Waghorn is some attack

    Pask told he can leave

Too laid back, and lacks concentration and muscle to be a centre back. Not technically good enough for full back

    Coventry City Transfer Disappointments

Strachan never liked Aloisi. He scored when he started games in the relegation season, but if he had one quiet game he was back on the bench, and replaced by Roussel or Bellamy.

    Coventry City Transfer Disappointments

We did get Roy Wegerle as part of the deal. I liked Wegerle, but Gallacher went on to be brilliant for Blackburn, and Wegerle blew hot and cold for a couple of seasons, and then was shipped out when Atkinson took over

    Coventry City Transfer Disappointments

City have always sold their best players, but which ones hit you the hardest in your time as a supporter? Cyrille Regis - Technically not a transfer. Butcher decided not to offer Cyrille a new deal in May 1991, and he left on a free. He then popped up at Aston Villa, having slimmed down, and...
